I've been shooting Remington .22 36gr. HP Golden Bullets in my .22's for a while now, because they group well in both rifle and pistol.
Today I had a chance to shoot some critters with 'em. Some "whistle pigs". Dunno what the real name is, but that's what we call 'em in Idaho. The body is about an inch in diameter. Also shot some prarie dogs(?), about 2" diameter.
Shots were around 50 yards. One at 25 yards. In all cases, the critter was DRT. Couldn't recover a bullet to verify that they expanded, but the external evidence seems to indicate they did. Each critter lost a good portion of the "far side."
Not bad for the cheapest ammo Wal-Mart carries.
