Greeting's All-

I would just like to take a minute and reflect on lifes blessings, and give
thanks to our Saviour Jesus Christ for letting us share these blessings
with others; as we have done here. I wish everyone here at The High
Road a very safe, joyous, and happy holiday season. We will keep you
all in our thoughts and prayers. May GOD BLESS America~!:D

Happy Thanksgiving...

And to all you non-US THR's to you as well. We'll be eating turkey today, an All American bird, which is as ugly as it is delicious..

On a serious note. I send my very best to our men and women in uniform who are protecting my sorry butt all over the world.

Because of you my family sleeps well at night.

God Bless.

:)

Back At Ya, ALA DAN!

And to all here at The High Road who have given so generously of their time to educate an old fire arms enthusiast!

And Especially to my son and his wife who are in the Gulf.. and all their friends with them!!

Gig 'Em Ags!!

Take Care

Hmmm, I'm not doing the family thing, just hanging out with some friends...Apparently, we're having a new kind of turkey, called "wild turkey", comes in a bottle  I wonder how they fit it in there???:what: I'm just being silly. Happy thanksgiving, one and all:)

+1 for everyone....

It is well to go back to the beginning in order to understand what we are celebrating this day. I counsel the Forum Members to read the following proclamation to all and sundry upon the occasion of their Thanksgiving dinner.

"Whereas,
it is the duty of all nations to acknowledge the providence of Almighty God, to obey His will, to be grateful of His benefits and humbly to implore His protection and favor; and

"Whereas,
both Houses of Congress have, by their joint committee, requested me 'to recommend to the people of the United States a day of public thanksgiving and prayer, to be observed by acknowledging with grateful hearts the many and signal favors of Almighty God, especially by affording them an opportunity peaceably to establish a form of government for their safety and happiness;'

"Now, therefore,
I do recommend and assign Thursday, the twenty-sixth day of November next to be devoted by the people of these States to the service of that great and glorious Being who is the beneficent author of all good that was, that is, or that will be; that we may then all unite in rendering unto Him our service and humble thanks for His kind care and protection of the people of this country previous to their becoming a nation; for the signal and manifold mercies and the favorable interpositions of His providence in the course and conclusion of the late war; for the great degree of tranquility, union and plenty which we have since enjoyed; for the civil and religious liberty with which we are blessed, and the means we have of acquiring and diffusing useful knowledge; and, in general, for all the great and various favors which He has been pleased to confer upon us.

"And also,
that we may then unite in most humbly offering our prayers and supplications to the great Lord and Ruler of Nations, and beseech Him to pardon our national and other transgressions, to enable us all, whether in public or private stations, to perform our duties properly and punctually; to render our National Government a blessing to all the people by constantly being a government of wise, just and constitutional laws, discreetly and faithfully executed and obeyed; to promote the knowledge and practice of true religion and virtue, and the increase of science among us; and, generally, to grant unto all mankind such a degree of temporal prosperity as He alone knows to be best.

Given under my hand, at the city of New York, the third day of October, A.D. 1789."

Thank you. I too wish everyone a wonderful holiday season. Even with all the hacking and gnashing we do at each other in this country, it's still the LAND OF THE MOST FREE AND BRAVE PEOPLE ON EARTH.

And a special thanks to those in uniform spending the day away from thier families-YOU ARE APPRECIATED, AND I THANK YOU FOR YOUR SERVICE.

Happy Thanksgiving to all. Especially my brothers and sisters in uniform.

The wife and son are playing in the snow in Michigan. My youngest is working today so I am here with my U of A freshman and the 2 dogs. Guess it's football, hotwings and beer today. :D

Happy Thanksgiving everybody.

I hope that all of you and your families & friends have a wonderful holiday.

And seansean, I'm familiar with that turkey dinner, just be careful when it comes time for the stuffing.
