Take that...

Anyone else tired of the same old " Is the .41 Mag Dead, yet" threads...

To tell the truth, it's the other way around...
The .429 Mag is Dead...or is that really the .43 Smith and Wesson Long:barf:

It's over. The 44 Mag has just plain lost it's sex appeal. Dirty Harry is 70 something. And the dirty little secret is getting out...

That's right...The .41 Mag is the way to go. Faster then a speeding 44, more powerful then a .357, able to shoot flatter at a single bound...yada, yada, yada...

I'm so over it being called a "Cult Cartridge" This baby rocks...

So I call BS on the .41 being a dying cartridge...It's actually the ever so slightly bigger .44 Mag that's in trouble here...Especially in light of all the gains the .45 Colt has been making, all these years...

You want to shoot a great big bore gun ~ shoot a .45 Colt or .454 Cassull
You want to shoot a great big boring gun ~ go with the .44 Mag...:neener:

Yep, who needs a Cartridge taking up room between the .41 Mag and the .45 Colt, anyways!

The .44 mag is dead?

I think he means that anything shot with a .44 mag is dead.

Cool!

If you're right, I can get some top-notch used guns for cheap, and they'll shoot a lot more readily-available, proven hunting rounds, with heavier bullets than the .41.

Yeah, they might drop another inch or two at 100 yards. If I could hold a handgun steadier than that, I might even notice.

I was just thinking that. ;)

Well, there goes my delusions of being uniquely individual and "off the beaten path". I and my several M-57s are mainstream. From James Dean to Joe Everyman in one thread.

How... pedestrian. And I guess my 1K .41 Starline has lost every last shred of collector value it may have had right when I was about to start selling them off individually at auction.

But maybe I'll have better luck finding some older 29s now - I've been conspicuously without luck in that regard.

There's a gorgeous example (629-2 I think) in a local shop with an 8 3/8" barrel and a wonderful action job. I just don't have 800 bucks.

So if the .44 is dead, let's hurry up here. I'd love to have that gun, but I want it for $250.

I've not researched this, but I'm willing to wager that .44 revolvers and ammunition outsell .41 revolvers and ammunition by quite a large margin.

If I'm wrong, and I may be, make room for me on the "let's go get some bargain .44's" bandwagon! There are several models I'd really like to pick up in this now "dead" caliber.

You mean that someone is still actually making a .41 and ammo for it? I guess it's been years since I even saw one. Seems like it was in the glove compartment of a Rambler????

DougDubya,,,

Yep!,,,

Just seeing if anybody was awake today....

And OFT,

Yep again, got the whole week off and it's rained everyday. Hot Totties, Su Amigo....

Damn, you were being ironic?

So I can't run out and get some more .44 revolvers for cheap?

Seriously I can't see the .44 Mag going away any time soon but I definately prefer the .41 Mag and .45 Colt +P when it comes to punching out lead at that general power level.

I'm on board. I'm going down to the pond later and chucking in all these .44's (I mean, .43's), and start looking for a real gun, the .41.

No need. ArmedBear and I are offering 250.00 a piece for nicely preserved older .44s.

I see Hawk and ArmedBears offer on all the non-model marked 4 screws and raise it by $1...

That's $251 American....

Whoops, didn't I start all this....LOL
