Is this guy serious? Look I owned a couple of 41 mag revolvers until I found out just how much of pain it was to buy ammo. Sold them, and now I have 44's and am glad I hopped on the 44 bandwagon. Why mess with a cartridge that can not handle heavy bullets and has only minimally less recoil. I know it has a flatter trajectory ( I call BS on anyone missing a deer because of the trajectory of the 44 at handgun ranges ). Hey someone has to own the 41 wheelguns in the world, better start reloading. Yea I'm a little opinionated today!

Peruse the '08 S&W catalog... no 57/58/657 .41 Maggies but fifteen different 29/329/629 models! You know, I think I'll have a launch platform available new for my .44 Russians available for a bit longer.

Remember, the .44 Russian was the start of 'The Deception'. It's predecessor, the .44 American, which really was .44" although it was stepped to .429" to go inside the cartridge case, fell to the Russian's desire for an easier to make bullet - a constant .429". Thus was born the .44 Russian - and 'The Deception' commenced. Of course, it was continued in 1907 when they added the longer smokeless/bp 'Special' cartridge - and then the abomination of 1955, too. Fortunately, chambered for that 1955 hunting round - or the 'Special', like their three such offerings in that same catalog this year, they will work with my beloved initial deceptor. Sadly, still no .44 Russian chambered offerings... it's been a while... I'll trudge on!

yup, the 44 magnum is dead. there will never be any more ammo, or guns made in this caliber. nor any holsters, or other accessories. you had better sell them to me. i will give you $25.00 each. that is over the flat scrap steel rate. send all you have! lol! if the 44 mag is dead, we are all in trouble! just because it is not the most powerfull handgun does not mean it is dead. if it were, there would be a lot of other guns out there that would be dead a long time ago.

I'm certainly happy that I am overrun with luck: 5 gallon bucket full of O.F. 44 mag brass and almost 6000 jacketed bullets on hand, and molds, gas checks, alloy and all the necessary tooling. Cause if the production of 44 mag components stops due to this I don't want to be affected for at least a month!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Let's see you take a 454 or a 500 and I take a 44 mag. we stand at 25 feet and trade one shot each aiming center masss. I get first shot you lose.:)

ive got a 44mag,454casull, and a few 45long colts
as the hippies are so fond of saying
it's all good!
BTW
when i find that pesky 41 brass mixed up in my good stuff i toss it in the trash

Nothing wrong with the 44 mag. I just like the 41 mag better. The only 44 mag that I may end up buying is a Colt Ananconda and that is just because It's a Colt!

I'm past the 44 mag. Tried it. Liked the 41 better and stepped up to the 480 Ruger skipping the 44. I just don't want to have the need to spend $100's for another caliber. Oh, I'll keep a couple of boxes around for the Anaconda when I buy one, but it mostly will just sit in the safe.
