I just saw this from the NRA news. So now the anti's are getting free billboards.

I think that we should pull some strings, maybe start a donation fund, and rent some billboards for some of Oleg's posters. What do you guys think?
Who would be able to set something like this up?

    *EDIT*
I just found this in activism. It seems like a fellow Highroader discovered this before I did. I suggest that we all email Clear Channel Outdoor and voice our discontent.

Harrisburg should give New Jersey a huge gift - the entire city of Philly. Just like the French gave us the Statue of Liberty. Then everyone's happy.

Anybody see the irony in their acronym?

    Moms Against Guns.

Maybe they should tack on a little more to the name...

No thank you, we have enough problems already here in NJ !
The entire corridor between NY and Philly needs a boatload of bleach, and then some! :barf: :barf: :barf:

"The billboards will stay up through November's elections - just long enough, the group says, for voters to elect candidates willing to crack down on illegal guns."

I thought it was the Police departments job to crack down on illegal guns, not the "candidates". I will say this, nothing in Philadelphia surprises me any more - especially with Nutjob, I mean Nutter in office. When will they ever learn that handicapping the law-abiding population doesn't work. They need to add mandatory sentences to anyone who commits a felony with a gun, w/o any plea deals.

No, it's obvious that criminals on the street are a major, major problem.

Organize, and get the word to those who advertise with Clear Channel (outdoor or otherwise--bring the radio arm in and you can really make it hurt) and Interstate Outdoor Advertising. "We're law-abiding Pennsylvania gun owners, and we vote with our dollars. Use the enemies of liberty as an advertising vehicle and accept the financial consequences of perfidy."

You might want to tone that down a bit, since I doubt one in ten people can tell you what perfidy means without cracking open a dictionary.

Yeah, I see this one or some derivative of it on a very regular basis.

To which I say: how does one propose to control "illegal" guns? The usual response, of course, suggests tighter gun laws. But...aren't "illegal" guns already "illegal?" :uhoh:

Cue the old quote about the limits (or lack thereof) of human stupidity...

Alan Kowin's ideas for pro-gun billboards:

    http://www.gunlaws.com/billboards.htm

The gunshop around the corner from my home has on of these outside, sponsored by Gunsite. One side says "Guns Are Why America Is Still Free", and the other side says "You Have the Right To Own A firearm. You Have The Responsibility To Learn How To Use It".

    That's a great site, Jesse.

Anybody in the Philadelphia area want to help get a billboard campaign going?

It'd be nice to get one going in Crook, I mean Cook, county in Illinois. You know, get them to realize what they're missing out on. The rest of the U.S. has the right to protect themselves with firearms.

Well see what you do is get a pro-gun message put on the very NEXT billboard down the road. Something in response to the first one.

    I CAN'T FRIGGIN' BELIEVE IT!

Things aren't like they used to be, back when I grew up...back then, we didn't need guns...we just put up "Gun Free Zone" signs and if any criminals came by, we called the police!
