The chart.

to have a chart like robs it has to be one model rifle or pistol (ie M4 or 1911) that lots of manufacturers make.

there are over eighty seven thousand members of this board.

of those +87,000 people, how many do you personally know?

That's why you send out a survey to members, asking for their voluntary participation. You ask them what brand they have, the rifle's accuracy, how old it is, sights, etc., which would be defining characteristics, and then you'd ask if the rifle had any failures such as sheared bolts, gas keys that came loose, rust under the FSB, receiver extensions that came loose, etc. What you would get is a general view of the "quality" that makers general produce their rifles with. You would also add in features that the rifle has, as the chart does.

Furthermore, you could include what the survey respondents actually do with the rifle... making it even easier to choose for the average AR buyer.

real world results.

to me this would be WAY MORE INTERESTING than the size of the pins in my receiver or the finish under my front sight base.

but thats just me. what do i know.

not everything.

It would be more interesting, because you could actually use it in judging the manufacturer tier of AR that you would need for your uses. A lot of what you see on these boards are just speculation, or tales of what happened to your cousin's best friend's uncle's coworker when he pulled the trigger and something went wrong. The pool here for a survey would be excellent too... 87,000 users, a whole lot of which have at least one AR-15 rifle, and of those, many have more than one. The owners of AR-15s on this board use those guns for everything, ranging from taking the grandson or girlfriend out to the range to get started on a .22LR upper to the police officer who carries his on patrol to the guy who ran through 5,000 rounds of ammo in a 10- day carbine course. You could get such a wide perspective.
