I did a search and to my astonishment there was no "official" CZ club here! So I thought that it was well past time to get one started.

All are welcome to join the club whether you are talking about the older "Presne strojirenstvi Uhersky Brod" MilSurp CZ firearms, or the newer products of Ceska zbrojovka. Please post photos and any information you care to share about your CZ pistols and rifles. :D

Some history (from the CZ webpage)
The history of Ceska zbrojovka Uhersky Brod dates back to 1936, when it was established as a branch plant of Ceska zbrojovka located in town of Strakonice, based on a political decision of the National Defence Council. On 2 January 1937 production of a combined range of military and civilian arms commenced. The first products were aircraft machine guns, military pistols and smallbore rifles. During the Nazi occupation period the plant was forced to produce and repair military arms.

From 1945 the plant returned to the combined range of military and civilian arms, with an equal share of time going into the production of each. In 1950 the Company became a separate state enterprise called "Presne strojirenstvi Uhersky Brod" (The Precision Machine Tooling Company) and was subsequently reorganised into a number of specialised directorates. In the 1970s and 1980s the Company was merged with the concern Agrozet Brno, where it engaged in its traditional production of arms while also taking over and launching the production of reduction gears and driveshaft casings for aircraft engines for Motorlet Praha and hydraulic powered and controlled attachments for tractors for Zetor Brno. In the second half of the 1980s a corporate modernisation and restructuring process began, with an emphasis on the product range of arms, and the process continued on into the 1990s. As of 1 July 1988 the Company was split off from Agrozet Brno and became a separate state enterprise, once again taking its original name of Česká zbrojovka, s.p.

In 1990 production for the last project for the Czechoslovak armed units ceased and the newly available capacity was put to full use in expanding production of arms for hunting and sporting purposes, as well as exports for armed police and military units. Similarly, in 1991 when the production of hydraulic powered and controlled attachments for tractors was discontinued, and in 1992 after the production volume of reduction gears and driveshaft casings for aircraft engines was curtailed, the newly available capacities were used primarily to expand the traditional production of recreational arms.
On 1 May 1992, the National Property Fund of the Czech Republic established the joint stock company Ceska zbrojovka a.s., Uhersky Brod in accordance with a privatisation project.

In 1997 Ceska zbrojovka obtained quality system certification pursuant to ISO 9001. The Company has been granted the requisite authorisation by the Office for Civil Aviation to manufacture and repair aircraft engine parts. The Company’s automotive industry manufacturing operation is has received quality system certification per CSN EN ISO 16949 standards, which forms a solid basis for further development in this area.

My weird old, and very much loved, CZ-52.
This pistol has the aftermarket Wolff 16.5 lb recoil spring and the new machined firing pin (available from Makarov.com) and is a lot of fun to shoot.

My recent purchase, a "Satin Nickel" finished CZ-75B in .40 S&W which is a wonderful handling tack driver easily on par with my beloved SIG 229!

Zespectre's CZ 75B 40...

Is about the nicest lookingf OTB pistols available. (It probably shoots pretty darn well also). I think it (the satin nickle) even beats the stainless CZs in looks - maybe not finish durablilty.

ZeSpectre,

Good idea. I will have to post a pic of my Pre-B CZ-75. This is my favorite 9mm and I have several.

I have this CZ in my night stand (I prefer it over my Sig). What more can you say?

Yeah, I've had the nickel CZ for about two days, had it to the range ONCE and have put 100 rounds through it and already it's a serious contender for my affection vs my SIG, but the SIG 229 is still my preferred CC gun (the CZ is a LOT more PURDY though <grin>).

Would like to find some good 12 round mags for the CZ though.

I'm starting to wonder if I should get some wood grips ;)
I do like the black and nickel look of my 75b though so the black plastic may just stay.

heres my CZ, love it!

I have a nice CZ-52 that I have done some trick stuff to.

I have no use for handguns,

So ill be sending it away when the right person comes along.

If i were gonna carry, Id surely pick this CZ!

I won't participate in this club,
but only because I don't own a CZ.
(I'm a revolver & lever gun guy. What can I say?)

But I'm delighted to see another club pop up,
and want to give a hearty endorsement to its founder,
my friend Ze, who participates in at least one other club I'm in
and offers up great informative posts.

I predict that this will be a first class thread with much good information.

Have fun, ya'll.

Just to throw in .002 in. Great idea. I own 2 cz52. Quirky as hell, but fun to shoot. A CZ82, which I love, and a 75BD. My favorite is the 75BD, but I shoot the 52s each week. Money goes further out the 52.

Have had a few fte with Bulgarian ammo on one gun the second 52 has never misfired. It needed a new spring, but that was all.

Great idea.

Hah, learn to pull the trigger smoothly on a CZ-52 and you can pull the trigger smoothly on ANYTHING! (except maybe a Nagant revolver).

Money goes further out the 52.
Yeah I bought bulk Romanian with TinyGnat and we're both really glad we did. Almost as cheap as .22LR!
