The Democratic Plot that Deceives Gun Owners.

Consider this the warning: the masses are now being desensitized to what the media calls "reasonable" gun laws. Make no mistake, not only do the media, the Ds, and the people controlling and funding them consider the existing laws reasonable, they consider many, many more laws even more reasonable. Forget about repeals of unconstitutional laws. There is no Constitution anymore: only fat wallets.

Gun control is intolerance and bigotry, but it's only one indicator of the mental health of a nation/state/city. Some places with gun control are otherwise healthy, and to live in places like that is ok. Other places are not at all healthy and you wouldn't be happy there with or without guns.

Within that context I'd say gun control is a fairly trivial issue, except for one thing; evil is normally preceeded by or accompanied by gun control. Gun control is to bad government as fever is to blood poisoning.

I just found this thread. Wow. Thanks for the info DTOM. One of the things I like about THR is that a large number of people here seem to go to the same "tin foil" hat maker that I do. I cringed every time I read "but they're pro-rkba Democrats" after the election. Folks, just pretend that ROSIE O'DONNEL is their chief spokesperson on the issue, then you'll see where they are ALL headed. I think DTOM's finding this info is just a ton of evidence in that direction.
This wasn't written by the Democratic party, or by party strategists. It was written in early '06 by gun-control-lobby hacks who used to work for "Americans for Gun Safety" [sic], trying to get Dems to jump back on the dead ban-more-guns horse that they rode to defeat in '00 and '04.

I wanted to bring this ancient thread back BECAUSE it is old. Read just a few of the first posts and you will perhaps be reminded that the seeds of today's rhetoric were sown long ago. I was particularly interested to see the emphasis on "gun safety" as opposed to "gun control"being espoused in their playbook. It can die for another seven years, but I found this thread to be a good reminder of how protracted a struggle we are engaged in.

Good call on dredging this up Preach. Still relevant today. Heck, it worked with Washington State's I594. They portrayed 594 as closing loopholes and keeping guns out of the hands of criminals. My, My, that sounded safe and "common sense" to a whole lot of people. They failed to highlight the fact that makes some pretty innocent behaviors class c felonies.

Also, I was struck by the high percentage of people who AGS claimed supported "assault weapons" bans.
