The "Dream Gun"

I also wish someone would develop an "Assault Rifle" in 8mm Mauser. Like a G3 style, 20-30rd. mag. and definately wood furniture. I'd probably break my shoulder shooting it, but oh well!

Hakim. No pistol grip, but it'll use easily modified 25 round MG13 mags.

hmmm...dream gun(s)

The 1911 Ned Christiansen will be building me in a few years will definitely qualify as such.

In the short term for dream handguns I'm aching to get my hands on a Sig P220 SAO (can't find anyone in San Antonio with one).

Light arms: PS90 with an AimPoint, or Sig 556 with either Leopold's CQ/T or Elcan's new DR. Getting my HK USC converted to a semi-only UMP would also qualify, with true dreaminess being an actual HK UMP.

Heavy arms: DSA SA58 Para Tactical Carbine, or Springfield's SOCOM II with VLTOR's Modstock.

I think I've put too much thought into this.

NeoStead NS2000 12 gage shotgun, one magazine loaded with Federal Flitecontrol 9 pellet 00 buckshot, one with FRAG-12 HE-AP grenades.

Since this is not a semi-auto, it is slightly possible I might someday be able to buy one overseas and get it back home. Of course if I ever did (or even got the chance to shoot one) I might see the reasons why no large manufacture, military or police organization has any interest in it. (When you live your dream it stops being a dream; it becomes your life.)

WOW I've got to start working on my dreams.

I just paid for a gun I've been dreaming about which I don't need and probably will only ever shoot at the range but I blame it on all the "what gun for Grizzleys" threads - finally I took the plunge and purchased a Ruger SRH .454 w/ 7.5" barrel. I like the looks of the Alaskan but I don't dream about the recoil those are nightmares!

I plan on shooting 99% .45's.

You may absolutely HATE this answer, but the "dream gun" for all around diversity would have to be a supressed .22 LR (Ruger, Walther, etc)

1) It kills small game for food supply

2) Ammo is cheap

3) Ammo is light

4) Ammo is readily available

5) Can be used to kill "opposition"- if discretion/stealth is used.
...hopefully, no one ever goes "Rambo" with whatever weapon they use.

6) Most 22s are concealable.
Can I get an "Amen"?

More guns in 7.62x25. Pistol, carbine, single-stack, double-stack, I don't care, just make them!

I drool thinking about a Hi-Point carbine in 7.62x25. I drool thinking about pretty much any handgun rechambered for 7.62x25. What's all this .357 Sig crap again? :neener:

Thank you Harvester... I forgot about the FG-42! There's a company making them in semi-auto, but for $4200... so STILL a dream gun, I guess. :)
