What's the dumbest thing you ever saw anybody do with a gun?

Here's my nominee:

A guy comes to the range with his first gun--a brand-new Smith Model 29. (This was when the Dirty Harry movies were still new, and 29s were hard to find.) the guy steps up to the firing line, loads the gun, and before anyone can stop him, he aims the gun in a limp-wristed hold, ABOUT TWO INCHES FROM HIS FACE, and drops the hammer.

The rear sight lodged in his forehead. He bled like a stuck pig.

I was told that there was an ad in the paper the following day: "For Sale, S&W M29 .44 Magnum. Only fired once."

Funny how you never see anything like that in the movies...

i saw something like that except the guy was using a desert eagle with a red dot scope. scope hit his forhead and knocked him to the ground. he got taken out by paramedics.

Probably the dumbest thing i've ever seen firearmswise was a couple of weeks ago when i saw myself selling my 20 gauge at Gander Mountain. I of course came to my senses and tried to go back to rebuy it but alas, it was gone.
