The eternal question. How long to load for DA vs SA guns?

...but leave the gun in my left hand for the reloading.
There's definitely more than one efficient way to skin a cat. For reasons I don't remember, I just got in the habit of loading with my left.

I never understood the dump pouch. I suspect a number of new trainees dumped rounds on the ground as well as in their hand. And a handful of rounds is harder to manipulate than one or two at a time--especially under stress.

It might be faster with a double action than a single action, but it doesn't seem very efficient.
Not that kind of dump pouch. This kind:

The rolly poly works. I've used those single shotshell box pouches for bulk packs of .22's and then finally made one of leather. It's sized where a full bulk pack of .22's slides into the pouch with enough height to keep them from spilling. It has two steel belt clips. Holds about 100-150rds of centerfire ammo. Those bags marketed for carrying your brass home from the range work well too.

I've long wondered just what "the eternal question" might be. Now I know. And I'd always assumed that it was something significant.

Craig is right. I tried loading my colt cobra from a old police leather dump pouch. Using 158gr.lrn cartridges to help handling I could only load 1 or 2 at a time. If I tried to speed it up to much I dropped some. Still working on my Colt single action skills.
