"The Great New Orleans Gun Grab-Descent Into Anarchy"

The above reference by Ratbert to the "type of arming, and getting together with neighbors" for self defense, to me is one of the more important aspects of the story. It has made me rethink "what if", and how to deal with the worst possible scenario. My copy of the book is being circulated locally; library, neighbors, police department, and city administration - as available. The awareness this one book can spread in a small town, could make a difference in "policy" for all concerned.

I bought the book from Amazon, and passed it on to my son, with instructions to pass it on to others. Great read! I experienced Katrina as family lives in Biloxi, and evacuated to my house here in TX. We drove to Biloxi two days after the storm hit, and I was shocked by the devastation there and on the way......Three weeks later, my area was hit hard by Rita. My area was Locked down" for about 6 days, and proudly, no firearms were confiscated as I'm aware.

As amazon.co.uk knew nothing about Gun Grab..., I ordered from the USA and bundled in a few other gun books for good measure. As my guns have already been grabbed this should be a wake up call for y'all.

This book is interesting for sure, as I have said I am not inclined to give it the great review others seem to believe.

You have thousands of stories and all they can find is a few stories, to fill the pages with, along with so much propaganda:barf: I have to tell you if this is your idea of good reporting :barf: Is all I have to mention.
No wonder you are passing it around, rather than pay money for it like I did...

Pays to shop around, must be why Wal Mart is doing so well:rolleyes:

Hope you get the book, it is a good one to read, we all like a good story to read and ponder;)

Another that will give you some insight is one written by James A Michener about "The Eagle and the Raven" :uhoh: Texas and how it was grabbed up.:)

The main players are Sam Houston and Santa Anna, another story of life, death and trajedy. All about politicians and Government and human suffering , that seems to be occuring over and over.

I'll be ordering three. One for me and one for each of my brothers. They own some guns and like to shoot but don't believe me when I talk about a possible AWB or some other ban/confiscation. They don't believe that the government can or will trample our rights like that and even are considering voting for Obama:barf:! Hopefully this will open their eyes.

It is undoubtedly against the law to shoot back, but according to Mr. Mike Vanderboegh of the Alabama Militia, it is a Founding Fathers-granted law for the defense of liberty.

Mr. Vanderboegh has written many articles relating to combatting tyranny and preserving civil rights. "The Three Fallacies: Waco Rules vs. Romanian Rules". "What Good Can a Handgun Do Against An Army", and "Spanish Man's Grave", are some of the masterpieces he has written.

You should check them out.

Personally, I want to read the New Orleans book too, but the idea of having to read about elderly men and women getting beaten down by the jackbooted thugs and stripped defenseless is heart wrenching.

But I recommend it for the beginner of Civil Rights 101.

Since nobody took you up on the offer in over a month, I will although I fear it may take a couple of weeks before I can finish it and pay it forward to the next. So if anybody else asks before the shipment go ahead and sent it to them. This is especially interesting to me since though since I am from NOLA, although I enlisted in the Air Force before Katrina and plan to never move back. One and half years left of my enlistment, North Houston here I come!

PM sent with address.

I'm currently as Broke as Broke Gets (Fuel Prices + Work Cutbacks), but you can be damned sure I'll be getting this book one way or another.

Also I will be paying the Local Library's visits as soon as I can to request it.

There is a lot of information on the web if you start hunting and reading, the book is really a let down as far as I was concerned and I bought it and have looked at it several times to see why I feel the way I do and so many others think it is great.
Good Luck
:)
