The Gun Deal that got away

I was at a local gunstore that I frequent when the owners son tells me I just missed a good gun deal. They had just taken in a huge lot of trade in shotguns from a local P.D. and in the lot was a bunch of 870s and S&W 3000s and 1 BENELLI M1 Super 90 that was Priced at $299.99 because cosmetically it had a few scratchs on it but internally in good shape YIKES a Super 90 FOR $299.00 I had just missed it by 10 Minutes. Have any of you missed a good deal on a firearm.

Last saturday afternoon I was in a local pawn shop and was looking at a Kimber Pro Carry that he's had for at least 2yrs.Was really tempted to buy it @ $589.It was 3:55pm and he closes at 4:00.I thought I'd check the internet for info on the little beast,good,bad,reliable ect.I go back Monday noonish,GONE!!

The guy that came in after me and tried to buy the NIB Delta Elite for $485 missed a screaming deal...

but I didn't

something about...you snooze, you lose. Now, if you really want to feel bad, think that he might have taken $550 OTD if you'd have offered...

looking right now...local dealer has 2 new Rossi lever guns in .45 LC and one in .454 Casull for $285. I think I hear them calling my name

I saw a like new Erma .22 cal Luger at a gunshow for $175. No real reason for wanting one except I just like the way they look and feel. I haven't seen them for less than $275 since. I passed on it after getting in trouble with the wife on a M-1 Carbine a year or so before. I figured I'd wait and get approval before spending the money (previous trouble was for not discussing purchase in advance). After getting approval, you guessed it, someone else had bought it. I still don't have one but will find one in acceptable shape some day...........

Last week I missed a like-new Bushmaster M4gery for $550.

This was many years ago, but I turned my back on an HK91 for $800, a Colt Python Hunter for $500, a Colt Anaconda Hunter package for the same price, and a whole bunch of other stuff that's gone way up in value. The owner was just trying to clean house, not make $$$. The only thing I bought out of the package was a pre-'89 Colt Delta HBar for $800.

In 95 or 96 a friend came into the gunshop where i worked and told me a local wal-mart was selling ruger mini 14 ranch rifles in stainless steel for $275.00.By the time i could get thru on the phone they were gone.
