The past 2 months I bought a Mosin 91/30, then a Taurus PT 145, then a Yugo Mauser 24/47, then lastly a Ruger 10/22 for my 8 year old girl - all of them by the way on SALE. I promised myself that I would not buy another firearm till March or April 2010. I said enough!....But I saw a Marlin XL7 in 270 winchester that I wanted to buy for hunting. I haven't hunted for the past 5 long years since I moved from WA from TX. Anyway, I told myself, that I would wait. But the problem was that the local gunstore, Ace Hardware, had the cheapest I could find locally or online, just $298. It was a deal I could not resist or wait. So...I dropped by the store, filled up the form, left the store to run some errands and came back to pick it up.:) I;m not kidding myself anymore - this will be the last firearm I will by for awhile.

Well, the year is over in 10 more days, so all you need to do is stay out of the gun stores!

BP - It almost sounds like you feel a little guilty? Remember that it's Christmas and tis better to give than receive. :)

It'll either be the last gun bought this year, or the first one bought next year. It doesn't matter, but one way or another it's gonna happen.:p

In the past 2 weeks, I've said "last gun for 2009" twice , already. Yeah, just just bought the 5th pistol in 2 weeks, a Colt 1911, yesterday at the last show of the year.

Yeah, I felt a little guilty, since I gave so much $$ away to my mom, sister and brothers who needed financial help this Christmas and I stretched the budget by buying this other gun. I was hoping to pay off the credit card by April 2010 so I could start buying again. But hey, it was a deal I could not resist.

Already made it, though haven't taken possession of it yet. It's a Walther PPK/S that was poorl;y stored and had some light rust/pitting issues. I got it for a song as a result -- too good of a deal to pass by. It's at Mac's Restorations in Tucson at the moment, getting a two-tone (black/charcoal) molly resin spruce-up. The end result should make for a perfect carry gun. :)

My wife bought my Christmas rifle, a .223 Rem/5.56x45mm Nato Ruger Ranch Rifle Mini-14, at Walmart for $607.00 while buying the grandkids' Christmas presents and groceries. A manager had to carry the gun out of the store, and my wife didn't slow down on her way to the car, so he had to carry it all the way out to the "can't ding my car" spots in the parking lot.

I punted on a firearm purchase the in last few days. Just decided there is too much stuff going on and way too much money being spent in the last month.

You have a good woman there ;)

I wish our ACE hardware stores sold guns :(

I tend to try and talk myself out of buying "fun" items, but it rarely works :D

Want to buy some ocean front property in Arizona? ;)

As long as you're not going into credit card debt - enjoy! You only live once.

I bought a new S&W revolver, and it should be here by the 1st, but my FFL is on vacation and I don't get to pick it up until the 4th. Very depressing. My last gun of the year instead becomes my first gun of next year...

Last January I told my wife that this is the last gun I will buy this year. I have finish the year with nine more after that. She just does not believe me any more. It is really not my fault. I needed those guns.

I just bought another mag online today for one of my 1911's.
There has been 4 gun purchases this year....who knows how many accessories...

I just ordered a Dan Wesson 10mm pointman 7, tan. I was hoping to get a CBOB in the Aug/July frame time. Then I stopped by the local shop and inquired about price increases for the new year. Big surprise for for me..... discontinued for 2010. :( It was supposed to be here today but FREDEX didn't deliver.

Dec. 23 2009; purchased a Herters XK3 in 270 Winchester for $180.00. Commercial '98 Mauser, some were built in W. Germany and some were from Zastava. Has Simmons Whitetail scope in original Buehler mounts. Nicely figured monte carlo style stock, good bore. Just needs to be cleaned up, no rust. If nothing else I'll screw in a spare 35 Whelen barrel that has been standing in the corner for 5 years with a muzzle break already installed. I hurt my shoulder patting myself on the back!!!!!

This week I purchased a Marlin 39A and a Marlin 336 from Cabela's. In November, I purchased three new Winchester Model 70 Featherweights in .243, .270 and .30-06; two from a local gun shop and one from Cabela's. I also purchased a new XD 4" 9mm and Ruger M77 Hawkeye .243 from Cabela's along with three Nikon Buckmasters scopes. Two hours ago I traded my Ruger .243 even for an nice condition older Ruger Mark II laminate/stainless in .308. No, I am not wealthy. Yes, I am broke, but at least not in debt. :)The ONLY other gun I NEED now is a Ruger Super Single Six .22 in stainless. I think it is safe to say I won't be getting another gun before the end of the year; unless....
