The MinuteMan Project (MMP) - Negative feedback from our opponents

On the one hand, I would like to tell you the more hateful among the letters are fake. On the other hand, I know any idiot with an internet connection can be anonymous and idiot at the same time, to catastrophic synergistic effect. Now, with that said, DO NOT go off and categorize people like that and honest political opponents (I don't do it to you, y'know!) into the same group. Some moron with a 56k can send as much hatemail as he likes, but it only takes one well intentioned, albeit easily offended individual taking it seriously to make it heard.
Come on now, turn the other cheek when someone calls you pathetic, only to end up mispelling the word to the point where it is hardly recognizable :neener:

I don't know about you folks, but I don't see it as
illegal immigration. I see it as illegal infestation.
I'm in SoKal right before going out to the lower
desert and see everyday what the loose borders
provide. I thank the MMP for doing what they're
doing. Too bad we don't have a commander & chief
who see it the same way.

I read that in the 1950s Pres. Eisenhower had something like one million illegal aliens deported. General/President Eisenhower was a WWII war hero and able President who at least understood the duties of his office.

The Minutemen Project is a group of men taking the laws into their own hands and we all understand centuries ago this type of organization was never successful!
Actually, I understand vigilante organizations have often been very sucessful. The problem was that they usually got a big head and went too far. I doubt the Minutemen will have that problem as they are under a lot of scrutiny.

I am all for relaxing our legal immigration laws to let more of those nice Mexicans and South Americans in, but first I want to see the borders under control. I don't have an issue with immigrants, I just want the govt to know who they are.

"The Establishment", all over the US, encourages people to be observant and report crimes. "Neighborhood Watch"; you see signs all around towns. Little old granny ladies peer out at the neighborhood and call 911 when they get suspicious.

A bunch of guys spread out along a small stretch of the US border with Mexico, doing the exact same thing as the little old granny ladies.

It never occurred to me that the little old granny ladies were vigilantes.

Oh, well. Live and learn. Ain't modern America a wonderful place? The problem is that dictionaries get out-dated just way too quickly--assuming folks can actually look up the words they toss about. The deal is, first ya gotta be able to spell the word. Then ya gotta be able to read and understand the definition. Apparently those detractors of the Minutemen flunked remedial English...

It is fully legal to sit around and watch what other people do. It is fully legal to contact law enforcement to report illegal doings. In no way is such activity "vigilantism".

:D, Art
