The most ridiculous price I have ever seen for a gun!

Some of the prices offered here are easily in the rediculous catagory.

I try not to buy anything that I eat, breath or shoot that comes from China. Read the horror stories about the drywall produced in China and installed in 1000's of houses here in Florida. The fumes from the drywall causes lung and eye problems.

I have a MAK90 that I traded a Stevens shotgun($100) and $200 for last year and I think I got screwed. It is the worst weapon, in all respects, that I own. I put the MAK90 in the same class as my Jennings pistol. A POS

I was just in vegas today and found an out of the way shop. Stopped to check prices on ammo (looking for Fed auto match). $45 for a brick of Remmy Yellow Jackets. I thanked the clerk for his time, and went on my way.

Chuckusaret:
If you'd like to recoup your loss on the purchase of the MAK, shoot me a PM.

I saw a Marlin Model 28 12 ga pump with half of a stock for $450. Its one of those guns that I would be really interested in if it was priced fairly.

And if people pay it, it is BEAUTIFUL.

I love a free market like this. People are making money where there is money to be made. God bless them.

God bless you for not saying everything should be free and the world is made of marshmallows and unicorn fur.

I was at a Gander Mountain this weekend and saw a used Winchester 94 on sale for $1899.

I've been avoiding gun shows like the plague since the election. The range master at my gun club said it looked like a commodities "pit" at the NYSE. Money waving, elbows flying, verbal lashings, etc.

I kind of want to go to one and just bring my video camera. It would be like a legal cock fight.

...

Some nut in the local paper try'n to get 600 bucks for a norinco 1911. Or the retail price of that over priced 5.7x28 900 dollar + pistol. Not on my life ever.

$700 for a S&W 5906 in preloved (NOT LNIB and more then used) condition. Two mags.

I vomited in my mouth a little.

LOL. In this climate, If I had to start from scratch I would stick to .22 LR and some hunting caliber bolt rifle, and a 9mm pistol or something. Semi auto rifles (so called "assault" weapons) are too costly.

A mixmaster ban-era cut-barrel Century-receivered parts FAL that had been converted to pistol grip configuration without any 922(r) parts, with a cheap BSA red dot sight on it, with a dremeled-out unibrow feedramp (it looked more like a feed CAVITY than a feed ramp) that the shop employee (who was the owner of that rifle) even said would not feed anything and jammed an awful lot for $1695 with a couple mags and an AK sling.

A Hesse-receivered Century mixmaster FAL, ban era with cut barrel, mixmaster parts gun, converted from thumbhole to pistol grip configuration with no 922(r) parts I could see, front and rear sights chiseled off (yes, I said CHISELED OFF), carry handle cut off with a pair of shears (leaving the sharp stump flopping around), a no-name scope mount hammered into the receiver with the gouges and hammer marks to prove it, action would not open, bolt felt like it was riding on broken glass, stock was cracked, had a cheapo paintball holosight on it, one mag (an Inch pattern hacked to fit the metric receiver, sob..) and again the shop owner said it had jamming problems even with the gas all the way closed... for $895. When he told me the price I gave him a look, and he apologised and said it was on consignment, he had told the owner that if he ever expected to sell it, "Now was the time" while people would buy anything. He actually looked embarassed.
We both sighed and it went back on the rack...
The worst part was it was gone the next week.

Another shop had a cardboard barrel full of Mosin-Nagants that hadn't even had the cosmo cleaned off of them "SPECIAL RUSSIAN SNIPER RIFLES YOUR CHOICE $399!" They were hex receivers and actually looked in good shape under the goop. But $400.. LOL! And they had 54R heavy ball ammo out of the spam cans for $4/10 rounds.

Most ridiculous prices I've seen both are for a Romanian Wasr-10/63 ak47 variant. Local Gun show: $1200 :barf: Local gun shop: $400 :neener: And she had several for sale at the local gun shop (yes, the owner is an enterprising young lady). I bought one, but only one...

When I was looking for my 5906, I called a few local shops, and got one owner of a tiny shop that had a NIB 5906, said I could have it for $800. So when I bought it from CDNN for $400 NIB, I was pretty happy. Went to a local gun show with a friend and they were selling used S&W Sigma 9's for $450, which was $100 more than the new one my friend bought at Cabela's last summer. I won't even comment on the prices of AR's.

Finally, the ammo shortage has fully hit my area. Been to 3 Walmart's and their shelves are pretty darn bare. One just had a few 44 Rem. Mag boxes, and a fair amount of 357 mag's, but couldn't see any 9's, 40's, or 45's. One was out of nearly everything, and the other only had 45's in shotshells. Local Cabela's has barely any 9mm in FMJ or HP.

Hoping things will settle down soon.

I went to the gun show in Norfolk, Va. this past weekend. Ammo was in short supply as it is all over. When it came to guns I saw things like M44 carbines for nearly $400:eek:. I bought one last year for $90 locally in a shop. But I saw a table of the full length Moisins for $119 each. One dealer, Trader Jerry's I believe(give credit where credit is due) had some high prices but not ridiculous prices on semi-auto EBR's but the handguns were at fairly normal prices, even the no lock 642's. I saw other dealers there who where asking reasonable prices for this climate. I was surprised frankly.
