I've been to a lot of gun shows in the last few years working as an NRA recruiter with my club and I rarely see anything for sale over about $5000. This past weekend, however, I went to the gun show in Richmond and it seems that must be where all the high rollers sell their wares.

I saw an M2HB displayed on a table and offerred for the low, low price of $25,000. I also saw an M1903 Mark I Springfield with Pedersen device, asking price $36,000. Pity I left my checkbook at home :uhoh:

So -- what's the most expensive firearm YOU'VE seen for sale at a gun show?

$57,000 for a double barreled bolt action rifle. It was right handed and the single bolt handle worked both bolts at the same time. I don't know how well it worked but it was a thing of beauty to look at the workmanship. It was at the last OGCA show of 2004. I have seen other guns at the show with a higher value but they weren't for sale at the time. OGCA shows are know for bringing out big dollar firearms and collectibles.

Most expensive I've ever seen were the four matched shotguns by Perazzi - 12, 20 and 28 gauge and .410. IIRC, the price was somewhere north of $400,000 for the matched, boxed set... :what:

(Including tax, of course! :D )

-some sort of detachable stocked long barrelled Luger, at this weekend's Dixie Gun and Knife Classic in Raleigh, NC- for $50,000.00 even. Same dealer had a couple of others, one for $36K and another for $32K.

Not my cuppa tea, good thing because that's just a smidgen outside my budget.

A Winchester 1873 lever action, "1 of 1000" with all the paperwork and documentation (only 136 ever got built)....dealer said if you didn't have a six figure checkbook you probably couldn't afford it.

A Scorpian(sp) 9mm (I think) from Jeff Coopers private collection, around $7500 IIRC. This last weekend at the gun show.

And yes, it was the same one from the last gun show that I went to last year. Same dude, same table, same gun.

I've seen that $50k gun, but I thought the other two were only $27k. Must be inflation at work or just another case of CRS.

At the SCI convention some years back Holland & Holland was showing one of their then-new .700 NE rifles. The guy actually let me hold it.

Base price was $100,000.

When I was living in the People's Republic of Minnesota, I'd occasionally see double express rifles and high-grade English shotguns for $8k - $35k.

The most expensive I recall seeing at the local Austin, TX gun show was a gas-trap Garand for somewhere around $10k.

I was at Knob Creek when the transferable mini gun from Predator changed hands. Big big big bucks.
I saw that for sale there a few years ago. Asking price was about $105,000, I think. So someone actually bought it?

I went to my first gun show this past weekend, the Indy 1500, supposodly the largest gunshow east of the Mississippi. Well, I thought that there was a lot of junk there, but I was suprised at the number of full autos that were there: Mp5's, Sten's, M60s, M2's, M16's, Bren's, Uzi's, Mac10s, and a load of others. Somehow, if I was someone that had a big enough checkbook to afford the $10-50K for the expensive ones, I don't think I'd happpen upon one at the gun show. Those just are not splurge purchases, although I can imagine someone spontaneously buy a $2500 Mac10 or other *affordable* full auto.

M16 for $30,000. Naturally, I'm looking at it thinking, "They usually go for half that, I can get an M60 for $30k...what is this guy thinking?"

Were you at the show on a Saturday? The guy was probably figuring the increase in market price that would occur by Sunday. :banghead:

Not the most expensive I've seen, but there is a guy who does local shows that has a Liberator pistol listed for $2,300...

$2300 for a liberator, not bad for a gun that was like a buck to make and was dropped over France in the plane loads. That my friend is a gun that knows how to increase its value.

Interesting. I see one of those occassionally at the shows around here, and usually the price is below a grand. Perhaps the one describe is in better condition, or there's something that makes it a rarer variety.

Richmond VA show couple years ago, guy had some beautiful Holland & Holland’s; there were two that caught my eye both double rifles. .375 H&H @ $45,000 the other a .600 Nitro Express @ $75,000. The guy had about 15 guns and not one of them was under $15,000, most impressive table I have seen.
