A mixmaster ban-era cut-barrel Century-receivered parts FAL that had been converted to pistol grip configuration without any 922(r) parts, with a cheap BSA red dot sight on it, with a dremeled-out unibrow feedramp (it looked more like a feed CAVITY than a feed ramp) that the shop employee (who was the owner of that rifle) even said would not feed anything and jammed an awful lot for $1695 with a couple mags and an AK sling.
A Hesse-receivered Century mixmaster FAL, ban era with cut barrel, mixmaster parts gun, converted from thumbhole to pistol grip configuration with no 922(r) parts I could see, front and rear sights chiseled off (yes, I said CHISELED OFF), carry handle cut off with a pair of shears (leaving the sharp stump flopping around), a no-name scope mount hammered into the receiver with the gouges and hammer marks to prove it, action would not open, bolt felt like it was riding on broken glass, stock was cracked, had a cheapo paintball holosight on it, one mag (an Inch pattern hacked to fit the metric receiver, sob..) and again the shop owner said it had jamming problems even with the gas all the way closed... for $895. When he told me the price I gave him a look, and he apologised and said it was on consignment, he had told the owner that if he ever expected to sell it, "Now was the time" while people would buy anything. He actually looked embarassed.
We both sighed and it went back on the rack...
The worst part was it was gone the next week.
Another shop had a cardboard barrel full of Mosin-Nagants that hadn't even had the cosmo cleaned off of them "SPECIAL RUSSIAN SNIPER RIFLES YOUR CHOICE $399!" They were hex receivers and actually looked in good shape under the goop. But $400.. LOL! And they had 54R heavy ball ammo out of the spam cans for $4/10 rounds.
