The new Ruger SR-22.

I like the fact that Ruger is now producing more exciting guns, but the SR-22 come on.

$600 for a 10/22 with an AR stock!!!!

Buy a 10/22 and customize it your self for far less. Can anyone see people buying what will be an extremely expensive 10/22?

I share your opinion but to each his own. My 13 year old is bugging me for a Hi-Point 9mm carbine. So far the Nancy Reagan just say no is holding but he is persistent.

With the price of 9mm ammo a .22LR makes more sense.

There is more to a .22 AR than just a bolt-carrier conversion kit. The barrel must be the correct diameter, for example. You can trick out a 10/22 receiver to look and function like an AR, but it will cost close to the same amount by the time you are done.

I put a ar type stock from tapco on my 10/22 and regret doing it. When I get time I will swap it out and sell it and put the money toward a .22 bolt action. I agree, $600 is too much, but if it sells, it sells.

I think it will do well, I won't help them along by buying one but I think there is a market for it. Having a cool looking gun that you can afford to shoot seems to go over well, just look at the GSG-5.

These things are selling well here in CA. I would rather have a Ruger 10/22 AR thing than a S&W or Colt. I have herd that the latter jam.

10/22 mags are also easier to find.

Lots of these type of rifles are selling lately, I can see why Ruger would pass on this market.

It's a Ruger 10/22 with a Nordic Componets kit installed. When you figure $200 for the cost of a new 10/22 plus $300 for the cost of the Nordic...which does not include a stock, grip, or foregrip...the price isn't too far off.

Personally, I'd rather have the S&W M&P dedicated .22 rifle, but that's just me. It sells for about $100 less, IIRC, and S&W did it right. No thanks on the Colt/Umarex.

The SR22 sells from $450-500 retail. I added it up and to build it yourself would cost about $700. It is not just a standard carbine with a new stock either. The Nordic is all aluminum. Plus it has a hammer forged barrel.

What else is nice is that Nordic redesigned the exterior, looks only, and the Ruger stock is way better looking.

I looked at one yesterday. It was pretty nice looking I thought. I didn't pay any attention to the price, since I don't care for AR type rifles really, but I'll bet they'll sell a couple of them.
