What is the oddest, most impractical, probably useless firearm that you wish you could own?

I'd like to have...

...a "short-action" Winchester 1895 chambered in .223Rem, 7.62x39, and .308Win...

...a "S&W-style" break-top DA revolver in .32ACP or .380ACP that used moonclips for reloading...

...an AR-15 chambered in .410 gauge...

...a Dragunov-style rifle in .45-70.

How about y'all?...:scrutiny:

Thanks in advance...:D

I have always had a yearning to own a blackpowder firearm.
Along those lines, the "Killdeer" longrifle fired by Hawkeye
in the movie, "Last of the Mohicans," might meet some
of your qualifications. It was the rifle where Hawkeye
used fine cotton for a tight weave, to give the ball another
40 yards:

EXTERIOR FORT WILLIAM HENRY, CASEMENT - UNCAS & HAWKEYE

now handed already-loaded, primed and cocked rifles while the four men behind them reload the two just fired.
Hawkeye gestures ...

EXTERIOR HILLSIDE - THREE HALF-SAVAGE CANADIENS

are running down the hill to intercept the courier. One fires ...

COURIER

a near miss.

EXTERIOR FORT WILLIAM HENRY - HAWKEYE

FIRES. A half second later, Uncas FIRES.

EXTERIOR HILLSIDE

One Canadien's falling through the trees as the second one's hit by Uncas' shot.

HAWKEYE

reaches out his hand. Killdeer with the heavier load is slapped into it. Hawkeye aims. Looks away a second and comes
back to the sight in deep concentration. The world goes silent ...

HAWKEYE'S POV: COURIER & CANADIEN

pursuer are barely visible. Only patches appear momentarily between the trees. They're three hundred yards away: an
impossible shot in 1757.

EXTERIOR FOREST - THE CANADIEN

will intersect the courier. His arm is back with his tomahawk to throw ...

EXTERIOR FORT WILLIAM HENRY - HAWKEYE

judges wind, elevates the long rifle ... and FIRES at us.

JUMP CUT BACK: TREES

Hawkeye's heavy round rips through. We HEAR the ball cut air. A few leaves flutter ...

EXTERIOR FOREST - CANADIEN

whacked head over heels by the impact.

COURIER

looks over his shoulder. He didn't know the Canadien was there. He stumbles in the half light . The he runs on ...

I have no idea of the maker, but I recall seeing once upon a time a combo pistol/knife/brass-knuckles thingy. The pistol barrel stuck out from between the clenched fingers of the shooting hand and the projected up and down from the brass-knuckles. Absolutely weird.

And I love to have one. Philip K. Dick had his protagonist use this gun in the classic SF novel “the Demolished Manâ€- and it always stuck with me, after I read it many years ago.

Anybody have a picture or recall this beast?

It's kind of goofy but I've always wanted a Sharps 50 cowboy gun and a set of colt navy pistols (cap and ball plus the conversion kit replacement cylinders).

.577 Howdah, Gyrojet.

of course I want a modern Lighting DA revolver.. even in 38 spec it would be tres cool.

I really want a Ferguson Rifle. Also a double rifle in .22lr. And a 24 or 32 guage shotgun.

I had a Semmerling years ago that I got for a song. I couldn't afford not to sell it. I wish I would've kept that thing.

It was Alfred Bester who wrote the Demolished Man.

The Demolished Man

Always loved that book, interested in his concept of using a gel filled with water as the round his gun fired to leave no evidence.

On the same subject how about a gun which fired a bullet composed of ice? 5 mins later and no ballistic evidence.

Might need an interesting mag to keep them cold mind you :)

(P.S. I'm not encouraging the illegal use of firearms just toying with the idea :) )

A really fine double rifle...

in some way cool caliber like .470 Nitro. Not that this is not a useful rifle for some, it's just that the odds of a rogue elephant in Northern Indiana seem remote.

GM7RQK- Ack! The SF geek fanboy in me is cringing. I knew that!

Getting my fav SF authors mixed up.

As to the ice bullet question, we discussed that
here after Mythbusters did an episode on it.

still can't believe I made that mistake... in a public forum no less...

Balog did you mean a volley pistol ?

Edited to add picture - sorry guys having a few computer problems tonight :)

PENGUNS!!! - I don't know what it is, but they have always interested me. I just can't find any for sale. (The Stinger doesn't count)

Thunder 5 - Just odd, it would be fun to shoot .410 slugs just for the heck of it.

I am sure there are more, I just can't think of them now. Penguns are what I would want most of all.

a lemon squeezer. Gotta find a picture of that somewhere--a collector showed me one when I was about six or so, and I was enthralled.

Anyone else know what I'm talking about? I don't think I can adequately describe it here, and my gun books are still packed away.
