For the first time in years Walmart had .22lr in stock. I went to Academy yesterday & they had so much that it was actually where you could put your hands on it. Don't know what happened, but it's over for now.

not here. an occasional box or two is all I see at walmart besides 22LR shotshells

Academy has been well stocked around here for a few months now, the Walmarts near me still have nada. Prices around $0.05 per round for bulk pack. We're getting there.

It ended here several months ago too. I don't frequent Walmart, but Fleetfarm and the few LGSs that I hang around at have been pretty well stocked. I dont see bricks. Mostly just 100 round packs.

Walmart, usually nada. Sportsman's Warehouse, usually some, often a bunch, but still how much you can bu is restricted..
A lot depends on how much the store is ordering, not so much on a shortage anymore.

I've been able to buy 22 anytime I want at cabelas in KC Kansas for a full year now.

Locally, we had a new Cabelas open last year. They have had plenty of 22's on the shelf from day one. Once that was known, 22's started reappearing in all the local sporting goods stores and even at Walmart.

I see buckets of .22s everywhere. Bricks of Remington Golden .22s, Winchesters, Federals.

But I do keep a backup of several 550 round boxes just in case.

Plenty at Bass Pro here, and in the "gun showroom" I frequent, except MiniMags, though they come and go, too. None of the Wal-Mart stores here even try anymore but, if you want .22LR ammo here, you'll get it if you look.

Went to walmart in TX and they had CCI AR .22 loads for 6.5c/rd. They had plenty, I only got 600 rds. I saw many remington buckets at cabellas. Don't remember the price

Here is a picture I took in Cabelas in late 2015, because one of my friends didn't believe me when I told him that they had 22's sitting everywhere. Cabelas still looks the same, except that the prices are cheaper now. IMG_0442.JPG

it seems the only thing around here is federal auto match and its still $25 a brick. I have seen Winchester wildcat one time at cabelas and was shocked cause i haven't seen that for 15yrs. everything else is $4-5 for 50 packs. I think the days of $15 bricks are gone.

My Cabela's has been about the same since late 2015. And I'm impressed with their prices, they really aren't any more than what I can typically find online. All the other smaller gun shops, Dicks and Bass Pro typically have an acceptable selection too, just at higher prices.

Walmart on the other hand still hasn't had any .22's in stock, though to be fair I haven't been there in about 6 weeks so maybe things have changed recently.

LGS and Academy have had an abundant supply of .22 LR for quite awhile now. What I haven't been able to find locally for a couple years was .22 WMR. Always had to order on line when I could find it. New 72,000 sq ft Academy opened last week. Must have had a hundred boxes of assorted brand .22 Magnum on the shelf. Two day sale limit ten CCI Varmint 30 gr $12 ($11.99) & CCI Maxi Mag 40 gr. $11 ($10.99). As some one who likes to shoot the .22 Mag that was a big score for me.

I think there was a lot of distributor level hoarding planning on Monica Lewinsky's ex-boyfriends wife being elected. Stick around a bit I suspect prices to drop as their long overdue back orders are delivered.

I have been passing on 22 LR on the shelf for quite awhile. Lots of stuff locally and have even begun to see some 22 Mag. Online, I have seen Aquila for as little as 0.045 cents per round.

I've been talking about the abundance of .22 LR here in N. Texas for a while. Bass Pro, Cabela's and Academy have had good stocks for months. Now Walmart is starting to have plenty too. I'm still doing what I've done since the first rimfire shortage, Buy a couple or more boxes every chance I get when the prices are good. Like others, now I'm buying .22 Mag.

The shortage of 22LR has been over for more than 2 years. Some people become so attached to a story that they cannot give it up long past its end.

Last year I wasn't seeing any .22 to speak of locally but I was able to amass a decent amount online. Since I have a good stock I haven't been looking locally this year but will try to check next time I'm around Wally World and Academy. Just picked up 1K of CCI mini-mags for $0.08 a round shipped w/o tax so things are improving.

My local Academy (Springfield MO) is usually well stocked. Had Mini mags and several others on the shelf.

I even saw some at Walmart.

A LGS has Browning 400 round boxes for 23.99.

A year ago I was happy to get it online for 10c a round, glad that is over with.

Two local Walmarts have had tiny quantities of CCI Standard Velocity (LRN) 100 rd. packs for ~$7.75 which is more than I am willing to pay.
They also have similar quantities of .22 Magnum at ~$14 per 50 rds. but a larger quantity of .17 cal. ammo.
