The THR 1851/1860 Club

"Good afternoon,
Full cylinders fired without having to pause after a shot to replace a cap or clear a blockage from a spent cap. The LeMat will throw caps from recoil if I use the Rem #10s but will work seamlessly with CCI #10s. The Army works well with both types but will give load after load with no issues if the Rem caps are used.
regards, J-Bar"

Well done, Painless Wolf!

Regards back at ya!

Lovely pieces, canaris. I especially like the squareback 1851. Does the squared-off triggerguard dig into your hand at all at the range?

I bought this just so I could join the club!
Pietta brasser 44 cal.
Not really, I got three grandsons and want to eventually have an 1860 to go with my 1851 and 1858 so they can each have one someday.

Holy smokes Skinny that is a great shooter. What load were you using? And that looks like a full fluted cylinder I don't think there were many of them built, but looking at their website doesn't appear to be.

A most excellent looking revolver. I'm impressed with your shooting. Gotta lay off the Remies and take my Centaur to the range. Haven't had a chance to put her through the paces as yet.

Two Pietta 1860 Armies.

Here is my Pietta 1860. While I'm here, can anyone tell me if the 1860 brass trigger guard sold at Dixie G/W website....will fit this gun? Not to clear in my photo....the trigger guard has a minor casting flaw that bugs me.....and since these things are not to expensive I'd like to replace it. The part at Dixie does not indicate Uberti or Pietta.

Crawdad1 is a bad influence!!!

25yards_zpsdcfcs2nj.jpg

Never set out to get into blackpowder. I was actually looking for a single action to take afield and relieve my model 25-5 of such work. Too much internet led me to lean towards an 1858 replica. Seeing an 1860 Pietta replica on sale I had to have it for the looks. It felt different in my hand than anything else I'd ever picked up.
finally I took it out and shot the above string offhand, 25 yards, timed fire, last shot called flyer ( having so much fun I forgot to breathe apparently jerked the trigger ).

Not stunning accuracy, but without my bifocals and those sights I'll take it. After 33 years of shooting and carrying just about everything the 1860 is my girl. All Crawdad1's fault.

Still haven't thought about a conversion cylinder. Might someday but I'm loving this so far. I'm not real good at cleaning apparently but I'm learning. I used and carried this like a 'real gun' for months and by BP revolvers have exceeded expectations. The 1860 clone more than any.
