I get the guy's check yesterday, and it is $0.90 short of the total amount.
Ever consider that it was a simple error on his part and not intentional?I'm going to send the J.A.'s check back to him with a copy of the email where I quoted him the exact amount.
If you pay $2.19 9/10 for gas and someone asks you what you paid for gas today you'd probably say "$2.19".
When I sold cars and someone asked "how much?" and I'd say "$6995" and they'd (75% of the people) say "ok, $6900" and I'd say "no, $6995:
It seems we only remember the important part, not the odd cents. I doubt he thought he'd 'get you' for $0.90. Mailing the check back will cost you $0.47. You going to bill him for that too? The best solution (IMO) would be to send him an email stating he was $0.90 short and you want him to send it to you. I'll bet he mails you a dollar and tells you to keep the change.
