Nonsense. That picture was taken in my living room. :neener: :D

This is just another example as to how gun owners are "targeted" or "assaulted" in every inane, picayune, and childish manner possible. [STRIKE]Dick[/STRIKE] David Gregory was let off. Let's see what happens here.

I'd like to know how the rifle was rendered inoperable.

Such a bunch of jerks! :cuss:

Off the top of my head, so I could be wrong, I believe a sitting Congress-person cannot be arrested because they are protected by the Constitution while in office. Afterwards... Maybe.

They shouldn't be arrested for posessing an "assault rifle" but perhaps for that fugly lumberjack plaid suit.

I wonder how many folks could figure out if it's deactivated of not...or would they have to trust us gunfolk to tell them...in which case yep they all are inoperable except the ones the criminals currently possess.

U.S. congressman who posed with gun in office could face probe

could face probe?.....i knew the gun laws in DC were strict.....but i think a probe is a bit much, dontcha think?

Ummm...I think he will be OK as long as he is facing the probe...:uhoh:
All they need to do was remove the firing pin. That way they could they could take it home for weekend range trips! Reinstall the pin and ...rock 'n roll!
(I know y'all know that)

The place with the strictest gun laws (one should say "ANTIgun laws"), has the highest rate of gun killings. So, how is that law working for them? :banghead:
Being these guys are GOPers, they will be prosecuted tot he full extent of the law. Maybe they could switch to Dem, and avoid the mess? :scrutiny:

I'm sure the reporters who notified the police will be first in line for future interviews.

But wait, aren't politicians above the law?

Because it's against DC law to bring it into the District of Columbia.
Even if Capitol Police says it's ok, you have to drive through DC to get to Capitol Hill.
That "legal to transport through an area" stuff doesn't apply to the District of Columbia

Edit to add:
Unless your name is David Gregory.

Ooh, ooh! I see a mistake:
Marus said that determining whether Buck’s AR-15 was legal or not would be up to police.
I'm pretty sure that the courts determine legality, not the police.

I saw an interview w/ Rep. Gowdy and he said that the only crime that was committed was the suit that he was wearing, or something to that effect. :)

According to him, the gun had been rendered inoperable and everything had been cleared with the DC Police Chief, Capitol Hill Police, and there were several lawyers involved (including Gowdy) to make sure it wasn't illegal, including the magazine.

David Gregory? He just brought an illegal "hi cap" magazine into DC.

I don't see the difference. :banghead:

Heh...Now that you mention it -- if ANYBODY would have vetted the legality of that "assault rifle" ahead of time, it would have been Rep. Gowdy... :)

.

Don't the gun grabbers in Congress grandstand with weapons they want to ban on the floor of the House and Senate pretty much every year?

1. If it's inoperable, why the trigger lock?

2. Is that magazine pinned at 10rds or whatever their arbitrary max capacity is?

3. All I have to do is ask the police before I break the law and I can get off scott-free?

1) could be just a CYA

2) the mag could very well be a dummy mag

3) if the gun is inoperable....hes not breaking any laws....hes already vetted it with the police.....also, as stated before, they are allowed to have guns in their offices.

without knowing the specs or any additonal information of the "gun", everything is really just speculation.

Let's hope the politician gets charged. Would be heck of a legal fight that might make its way to SCOTUS. If we must throw someone under the legal bus to decide our rights, best let it be politician.

:D

I like the way you think.
