Was searching YouTube for a solution to the trigger catching issue on my Taurus G2c when I came across this video:

If you watch the first 30 seconds, you will notice the brilliant young man handling his Taurus G2c and continually sweep his own hand with it.

Then, he points out that it has a round in the chamber, clicks the safety off, and again points it at his hand while making a comment about "Gun Nazis". Apparently he has been chastised before.

Even with such obvious errors in gun handling being pointed out, he refuses to acknowledge that his actions are wrong and dangerous.

People as dumb as him challenge my faith in the 2nd amendment. This guy obviously is too stupid to own a gun. He is going to injure or kill himself or someone else, eventually.

As the country devolves into a nation of people bereft of common sense and critical thinking skills, I wonder if restrictions on firearm ownership based on intelligence tests may be forthcoming...

I understand being vexed by this too rampant idiocy.

While there's no doubt there are far too many incredibly stupid people who own guns ... gun owners are still a minority in this country and with the exception of shooting ranges/areas, law enforcement and open-carry disciples, you just don't see guns all the time every day.

But we all have to get on the highways and streets every single day to run our errands and earn a living. My concern has to do with the millions of criminally stupid people who own and drive motor vehicles, with whom I and my loved ones are forced to share the public roadways. These people are a far, far greater danger to all of us than stupid gun owners.

My faith in the 2nd Amendment is not challenged by folks such as the stupid guy in the video. It only goes to point out that life is not always safe and never has been, and more to the point -- rights and liberty are for everyone, even the stupid. We cannot punish everyone because of the one guy in the corner who puts the rest of us at risk. We cannot limit our freedoms because stupid people exist.

The problem is that it seems that society is devolving rapidly.

Studies have confirmed that overall average IQ scores among developed nations are steadily declining.

IQ scores have been steadily falling for the past few decades, and environmental factors are to blame, a new study says.

The research suggests that genes aren't what's driving the decline in IQ scores, according to the study, published Monday.
Norwegian researchers analyzed the IQ scores of Norwegian men born between 1962 and 1991 and found that scores increased by almost 3 percentage points each decade for those born between 1962 to 1975 -- but then saw a steady decline among those born after 1975.

Similar studies in Denmark, Britain, France, the Netherlands, Finland and Estonia have demonstrated a similar downward trend in IQ scores, said Ole Rogeberg, a senior research fellow at the Ragnar Frisch Center for Economic Research in Norway and co-author of the new study.

I believe young children and teenagers are not challenged by life like they have been in the past...kind of a laziness...like not being physically fit. Ie not mentally fit.
Humanity is nearing a peak. It is almost as though we are not created for a life of ease and that we only improve when facing challenges and struggle against hardships. My 2 cents.

Actually it’s a well documented phenomenon.
It’s called a Malthusian cycle. The pattern is called a Malthusian curve, which follows a 1/2 bell curve, sloping upward until a peak, followed by a steep, precipitous fall to at, or near zero.
It occurs in bacterial cultures, wildlife populations, and unfortunately we’ll sooner than later see it in the human population. As predicted, inaccurately, in the late 1800’s by statistician Thomas Malthus.

Basically, every population be it bacterial or whatever, begins growing, it does so at a geometric progression. Like a bank account with a 5% interest rate. Start with a penny, and over a hundred years, you’ll have several million dollars.
In wildlife populations, this is regulated by what are called inter-compensating mortality factors. Meaning that things like accidents, predation, food shortages (starvation), interactional friction (fighting due to territorial or mating challenges), competition from other species. With over population, some individuals become over specialized or specific in needs that they become susceptible to major changes in their environment. IE: crime rises with increasing populations due to competition for limited resources. Just like we see with the gang violence in the major population centers.

Unfortunately, Internationalisim (a form of coveting by the have nots of those who do have), and its sister, Socialism, which only has the effect of mutually shared misery.
Thomas Malthus’ predictions didn’t hold because they didn’t take into account the advances in technology accompanying the industrial revolution such as agriculture, medicine, and energy (petro-chemical).

I’m afraid that with the dumbing down by the shift from learning to political indoctrination in the education industry, that we are hastening the onst of the predicted Malthusian crash.

Unfortunately the result won’t be something like the popular culture of “zombies”, due to some bizarre virus, but rather of starving mobs exiting the urban metropolitan areas, roaming the countryside in search of sustenance.
Just like what we are seeing in Venezuela and on our southern boarder.
Ok, I’m going to shut up. Said too much already.
