My current CCW is a Kahr CW40. I have had a few issues requiring visits back to Kahr Service (average at best). Are there any other CCWs in a semi-auto that are as thin for IWB carry?? I am leaning toward a Walther PPS right now, seems to be some good press in here on it. Before I get the deluge, I would like thinner than Glock, and a minimum of 9MM.

The 1911 family is considered a thin profile line of guns, however the problem I run into with my Taurus 1911 is concealing the handle. I like to carry cross draw, and that handle sticks out like a sore thumb. In addition the 1911 is a single stack 8 round clip.
Good luck with your search

I'm really eyeing the PPS too - I was really interested in the PX4 SC and now that they're finally starting to come out, they're just a bit too fat for what I'm looking for. I know Taurus is supposed to be coming out with a thin single stack 9mm sometime soon - but unless you want to wait a while - I don't trust first run issues from any manufacturer.

The Kel-Tec PF-9 would fit the bill. It's definitely slim, and weighs less than an airweight J frame empty. They've also been around long enough for Kel-Tec to work out the initial bugs. Oh and you can probably buy two for the price of one PPS.

I wouldn't sell the PF-9 short also. I handled one recently and I was actually quite impressed. I carried a P-11 for years and the Pf-9 had MUCH better sights and a much smoother and lighter trigger pull. Its also super slim, light, and concealable.

S&W has their 3913/908 9mms. Very slim, 3 1/2 inch barrel, 8 round single stack magazine. The 3913 is stainless, the 908 is the value line model, alloy frame/blued slide, single rather than ambidexterous safety, polymer front and rear sights, polymer recoil spring. There's also a stainless 908S. The regular 908 is my current carry gun of choice if not one of my smith snubbie revolver.

There's also the Chief Special with a 3" barrel, 7 round mags, and only in stainless. They may or may not be hard to find and I'd have bought one except for the price ($500+. I got my barely used in the box 908 for $370 out the door) and the very short barrel had me worried about function. Also a model in .45 ACP. Everything I've read said they work well.

PPS is the thinnest thing I've seen recently. I do love the P7's but they are heavy. Wish they did an alloy-frame version.

CZ PCR? It isn't the absolute thinnest gun out there, but it does certainly have a trim profile because of the low-riding slide and the nice short grip. For me it works because it looks and basically is just a 3/4 scale CZ 75BD, and the lack of bulk makes it very easy and comfortable to carry. I find bulkiness and grip length to be the two biggest problem causers.

I moved to FL from WA last fall. I carried a G19 in WA but I didn't like its concealability while wearing skimpy, warm weather clothing in FL. After some research I decided on the Kahr PM9, loaded with Speer 124gr +P, which I carry everywhere, mostly in a pocket holster. It has performed flawlessly.

I have a Milt Sparks Summer Special IWB holster on order, but I won't receive it for a few more months due to production backlog.

After my first outing with banging bullets downrange, I fitted my PM9 with a Hogue Handall Jr. neoprene grip sleeve and Pearce magazine grip extension.

It works for me. Good luck!

Cheers!

My P239-9 is my daily carry after giving my dad the 3913.
The Sig with hogue grips fits my hand & conceals well. Most accurate small/med gun I've ever held.

+1 for the Kel-Tec PF9. Very thin. Mine's been flawless and is more accurate than it has a right to be. Recoil's not light, but that's okay for the intended use. If the gun cost $250 more, it'd be appreciated more.
