Things not to do with revolver?

Funny you say that. A buddy of mine traded a .40 cal Glock to some guy a couple of weeks ago for a nice S&W m13 and $150. Not sure how he sleeps at night.

I traded a fellow a Glock 19 and $200.00 for a Smith & Wesson Modell 29-2, with a 4" barrel. The 29 was in near perfect condition. The fellow threw in a two 20 round boxes of ammo, with about five rounds missing. That told me WHY he wanted to trade it.

As for holding any hand parts near the front of cylinder, here's an image of a repair I did on a leather sandbag after shooting a .357 over the hood of my car one day.

The bag was blackened, the sand was all over the place and there was a 1 inch hole in the corner of the sandbag. At first I thought I shot it with a bullet.
This happened long before I saw graphic images of severed hand digits on the internet that scare the be-geezuz out of me.
I know two things, I know how much a hand hurts from surgery and I value counting to 10 on my fingers.

I need to be reminded of this hazard quite often. A habit of proper handgun hold is most important, not only for accuracy but for safety as well.

I encourage all revolver shooters to trade in their old fashioned wheelguns for Glocks. Send your blued steel relics to my local FFL and I'll have them send you the Glock of your choice. Thank me later. ;)

Probably just cut the stitching. I've been using the same suede sandbags for revolver shooting for 15yrs and they show no signs of wearing out. In fact, I've always used the same bag on top and I bench test almost all my sixguns.

Don't give big magnums to unprepared shooters for them to bounce off their foreheads.

Don't shoot 140gr FTX LeverRevolution ammo in an MR73 (something about the recoil impulse causes the hand to 'bounce' and tie up the action)

In hinged-frame revolvers, do not cock and snap the hammer with the action open, and certainly don't close it with the hammer cocked.
