I have a Glock 32C in .357 Sig.

I like the rugged design, the fact that it's reliable, the caliber, and the factory porting.

I don't like the grip. Not just the angle, but the groves don't fit my hand. And even though I kind of got used to stiker fire, I shoot a traditional single/double action more accurately.

I've had it for five years and the cold hard truth is it's moving even further back in the safe.

Please don't let this thread deteriorate down to Glock vs. fill in the blank. I'm looking for constructive ideas on what to replace it with, not just someone stating how much they like theirs. Glocks are great guns, but they aren't for everyone.

A lot of folks don't like those finger grooves, I hate them! But I have come to love the pistol anyway. If I were forced to choose between the Glock 17/19/22/23 and something else, where I had to change, I would likely end up with an M&P 9/9C...I also am very partial to the Sig P226 and the CZ75PO1...

Have you looked at the SA XDm? I know it's striker fired and you may be looking for DA/SA answers here. If so a CZ is always worth consideration as is Sig if you want to stay with .357 Sig.;)

FNX 9 or .40 if your interested in changing to a more common caliber.

SIG 229 if you're looking to stay with .357SIG.

Sounds like ergs are important to you, so the adjustable backstraps of the FNX might be a big benefit, it also comes with 3 magazines. You can also carry the FNX "cocked and locked," but you have to put up with a manual safety if you carry in DA mode.

If your sticking with .357SIG you might want to check out the rimfire conversions for the SIG 229, it is a great way to practice trigger management with your primary firearm.

Which handgun?

The ballistics and performance of .357SIG is impressive, but that caliber is becoming harder to find and relatively more expensive. Since you are considering to change handguns, perhaps a caliber change would also serve you well. The .40S&W +p can provide similar ballistics for self defense, less cost per FMJ practice cartridge, and a greater variety of manufacturers and models to choose from.

In recent years Sig Sauer sold a .40S&W caliber handgun packaged with a second barrel and magazines chambered for .357SIG. I believe they were available in models P226 and P229. Some distributors may still have NIB sets available for purchase.

I have, or have had, two S&W 686 .357MAG, a Glock 21 [.45ACP], a Glock 22 [.40S&W], Sig P226 .40cal, and a Sig P229 9mm. Just saying to lend credibility to the statement that the Sig Sauer and Glock chambered in .40S&W are the most accurate for my stature and circumstance [6'0" 210lbs athletic build].

Many tenured gun owners do not like the .40S&W saying that it is 'snappy' or it has to much recoil. Yet with a proper weighted gun, hand grip, stance, and training the accuracy and ballistics of the .40S&W is very effective.

The Sig Sauer models 226 and 229 chambered in .40S&W are my prefered handguns for personal protection. Both models are heavy enough to counteract recoil and return the sights to target with the proper grip and training. Both models are available in SA/DA. American made Sig handguns with a stainless slide are durable, rugged, and very reliable; marginally more so than the German made Sigs with the stamped carbon steel slide. If you don't like the factory grip(s), then Hogue or Pachmayr likely have a grip that will fit your hands.

Every handgun operator has a unique set of characeristics that influence their choice gun, and sometimes that changes over time. Choose whatever gives you reliability, repeatability, and confidence.

Obviously, you need to sell it and buy another CZ!

If you have enough of those, try an FNX. Aside from the 6" wide mag floorplates, there's not much to dislike about them.

Get thee to a gunshow or a shop and handle some guns..see how they fit since your main complaint seems to be the grip. Fire some if you can rent or if you have a friend with a pistol of interest. You might want to consider a
9mm or .40 for ammo availability and cost.

If you're a "CZ guy", the choice seems obvious. :) If you don't mind a drop in power to the 9mm Luger, the PCR (or P-01 if you want a light rail) is roughly the same size, weight and capacity as the Glock. I have a PCR myself, alongside a Glock 19.

I've tried to love Glock, but I'm in the same boat, it just doesn't fit/work for me. A shame because they are great guns.

The one that does work is the HK P2000sk. Fondle one sometime.
The Walther P99 line is excellent.
For concealed carry the Kahr line is hard to beat. The solid K9 is one that sings in my hand as well.

I've got a friend's Sig 226 (in .357sig) over the weekend while I make him a holster, and I gotta say it's a fine machine! However, the grip is a bit fat for my tastes.

At the time when I purchased my G17 I got my hands on the S&W M&P and let me tell you if I would of had the extra $125 I probably would have bought it. The grip is fantastic on the M&P compared to the 17 but I don't look back after buying the 17 after using it in competition....absolute reliability out of the 17 and as far as the grip goes, I added a Hogue rubber over-grip and now love the feel. I would also look at the Sig line of pistols since you like the CZ line...a little pricey but very nice. How about a Colt 1911...cant go wrong there!

I'm ahead of you, I own a 75B, P0-1, RAMI, and a Kadet kit. I'm fond of all of them but the .357 Sig fills a niche in my collection that I want to keep. I just need it in a platform that I can shoot well.

Many helpful ideas in this thread. Thanks to all. :)

I think an M&P357 would be a good replacement for your Glock 32 if you want to stick with the same caliber. It doesn't have any finger grooves. It is every bit as reliable, easy to shoot well and has a few design differences over the Glock that I really appreciate myself.

Hello All,
I shoot Glock 19 & 23 but am considering an FNP-9 does anyone else have recent feedback on this gun. I would also love to have a CZ but my hands are small for the full size any suggestions?

The CZ P0-1 will fit small hands. Find one to hold, they are a very accurate pistol, once you break in the trigger.

If you have a whole pile of 357 sig ammo, a Sig 226 or 229 would be the ticket. If you're not that heavily invested in 357 sig, then I don't think you can really go wrong with adding Beretta or CZ to your list of SA/DA pistols to research.
