I recently acquired a used Rem 1100 and have upgraded it with a side saddle, speedfeed stock, tube extention, XS Express rifle sights, Tac handle and an EZ loader. Having taken it to the range and shot a couple of three gun matches with it I have found that I like it better than my 1100 Competition Master. I now see my CM becoming a safe queen. In looking at my current collection of shotguns (2 1100s and a 12ga O/U) I am considering selling the CM and getting an 11-87 with 3" capability as a duck/goose/turkey gun to help round out my collection.
I figure that I can get a good trade for my lightly used CM and find a good 11-87. Am I crazy?

If you're crazy, so am I.

Redundancy in shotguns is best in smaller doses. A 3" shotgun will add lots of versatility to your "Battery".

Still, I'd shoot both of these side by side plenty before committing. I've been known to stalk around the hosue for days muttering something about "Never should have sold that gun"....

The CM should trade for a better shotgun than an 11-87. Try a Beretta 390/391 or a SuperX2. You can probably find a 3.5" SuperX2 for about the same money an excellent condition CM will bring.
