Funny story: I'd just looked at my online source yesterday before going to see Ronin 47 with my wife. (Excellnt flick BTW.)
Afterwards we walk into Gander Mt's annual clothing clearance sale, and I spy pallets of 5.56 ammo. out in the aisles, back near the gun counters.
BULK 5.56 being sold @ .55-.60 cents per round, when I'd just been looking at it online, for cheap.(.32 a round, almost 50% less with no sales tax.) SO, anyway, the salesmen see my disbelief, and mistake it for being impressed they HAVE ammo, and they approach. One says, " Can you believe we've got your piles of ammo?!" My response, " Can you price this stuff as if nobody HAS a smart phone?"
As long as there's still a sucker born every minute, there will be scalpers/thieves/con artists. Of course, most of their firearms are priced with nearly the same mark-up...
a.) Humor. Take it with a sense of humor, and do not take it personally.
b.) Recognize that it will not get better; see the new CA legislation? The GSG-22s will be the new AR-15s.
