Welcome
Thanks Mav.
Thanks Mav.
The SCAR is expensive, but it has better sights,
a better stock,
better barrel
and better refinement due to its being the SOCOM gun.
The SCAR balances and feels much lighter than the XCR even though it isnt.
The XCR stock can be used as a breaching tool, but the SCAR stock better accommodates different body types, clothing worn, body armor and optics configurations, thus making it an overall better stock at the expense of some durability.I agree with VB's assessment of the platforms as they compare today.
I am not 100% thrilled with the stock on either platform right now; the SCAR's is more versatile; the XCR's feels a LOT more solid and durable.
If/when I buy a SCAR, it may be the only firearm I own that I bought from the beginning as 80% investment/safe queen, and 20% shooter. I.e. I won't really care about SBRing it or being able to modify it in any way. If you want a shooter, I would recommend the XCR due to the availablity of the rifles and parts, cost, and configurability. With the SCAR, what you see is what you will get.
Speaking as a lefty: though not optimally placed, the reversibility of the charging handle on the SCAR is nice (though not sure I would actually reverse it), and the ambi mag catch is definitely nice.
Nice DSA...Tho' I have found that stock prone to fail. My life has, does and will depend on my FAL's.
