This is absolutely INSANE!

That's why I cast my own bullets. I can cast for waaaay less than purchasing jacketed, and a soft load of AA#7 under a 124gr tumble lube cast bullet makes my P01 sing. I still buy jacketed hollow points here and there, but this weekend the Lee production pot is coming out again, for 9mm, 38 and 7.62x39mm bullets.

Me to!!
but only in .38 and 9mm. Been thinking about getting a 7.62x39 mold. What load are you using....velocity? Do you use gas checks? How hard is it to clean the gas system afterwards?

It will take a number of months to use up that pound, but Dang $35 that's insane too.

$35.00 isn't too bad my brand is up to $50.00LB with shipping

I believe the new tax was only supposed to raise it $1.70LB.

As for components I suggest looking for out of the way shops and country stores and gas stations. You'd be surprised what's out in the boondocks waiting to be purchased, I know I was.

Had to go to Wally world to get my son a mouth guard for rugby. Looked around at ammo. Shelves full of shotgun hunting grade (standard prices). NO Rifle or Pistol at all. Maybe 2000 rds of 22. I asked price of the two boxes of federal bulk 22, $13.95, but he only had two. He might get more in tommorrow, but never sure. Price was same as I was paying last August. Yes I left with them.

If it wasn't for the fact I'm an NRA pistol instructor and make good money at it, I'd stop altogether and take up casting.

I bought three Tokarevs and am glad I did it when I did, got them at $250 delivered, now you can't find them in stock and on sale for less $300 it seems(gunbroker).

I put off buying more Mosin Nagants, and am reconsidering after today's day(bought two, think I might need two more). I bought an ungodly amount of supplies at people looked at me like I was nuts but I've got and a lot of folks don't.

If I had the money, I'd call up some cousins from Israel and start working on opening my own primer and ammunition plant, cause there is a market to tap right now, especially if you sold straight to the public.

We have to do like we did with the price of oil, stop buying it. I'm done shooting anything that isn't .22lr, I'll just lift more weights and shoot less. Yeah other handguns are coming down in the pirce, if used or trade-ins, but cheap stuff shouldn't be going up so high.

I've looked into making my own bio-fuel, now I'll look into making my own BP and flints for building a wheelock(flintlock).

Gander MTN here in VA are charging $50+tax per 1k Winchester small pistol primers. They were $28 per 1k 4 months ago.

Which one in VA? I'll be stopping by the Roanoke store tomorrow. I was just at the Fredericksburg store this morning (Thurs).
