The Shadow Knows...
Took today and tomorrow off from work so I could have a four day recovery stretch from a minor procedure. I NEVER miss work so its only fitting that this happened today :scrutiny:
I woke up about 30 minutes ago from a Percoset induced nap, sat at the desk to check my email- there was one from a friend at work saying the shop just got in a 1914 Commercial Colt 1911- Said he payed $700 hundred for it and included three photos  My jaw hit the floor at the sight of this beauty- A Holiest of Hosliest Grail at a really sexy price... I immediatetly called the shop and told my friend to NOT do ANYTHING with it and that I'd be right down.. Thats when when the cookie crumbled... He fessed up that it was all a scam to keep me from driving while medicated. (To be honest.. I was so excited at the sight of this pistol that I didn't once even consider that I was on meds :banghead:) I'm glad he pointed it out. I wasn't mad though- I'm a huge smartass and prankster.. I deserved it :p

Anyway... On the bright side the pistol was actually in the shop. A nice older gentleman named Terry who frequents the store once a month or so brought it in to show me today. We chat every time he comes in, we share similar tastes in firearms, 1911s, S&W Revolvers.. In fact I bought my personal Rem 700 BDL 30-06 from him a few years ago. Hopefully I can get him to bring it in again so I can see it first hand.. With a little luck he might let me play with it for a night. If he does, I'll do a write up with some better shots for THR. For now, I think I am writing far too clearly considering the circumstances so I will leave you with the photos as I slink of for another little white pill.
Good day gentlemen :)

wow thats a nice piece, i really wanted to buy a 1911 but i just got arrested on the most, pardon my french, bull **** charge and court fees might eat up the money i had saved up.

Man, that's a beauty! I'd be afraid to shoot it though, unless I made some light loads for it myself. I've heard too many stories about those really old 1911's having weak steel and slides getting cracked. I'd be devastated if I broke somebody's treasure like that one.

I have a gorgeous Colt 01911 WWI repro, but there ain't nothing like the real thing.

Nice! My holy grail is the Remington model, though.By the way, I hope the minor procedure didn't involve removal of any brass or lead pieces!
