I see nothing "illegal" or "prohibited" about this rifle design. It is not listed on the prohibited weapons list, there is no reason why you cannot legally buy it in canada.

Most of the time its supply and demand. If its really popular, it sells out in the states first, maybe a few reach us, but then we wait. The crap-shoot about living here and buying weapons made in the US is the ATF. The united states border patrol does not like to export weaponry, and it usually takes a long long time.
AR rifles right now from armalite are on a 4 month backlog becuase of border inspections, permits, etc for dealers.

I would talk to another dealer and ask them if they can get it for you. Where I live, pro-line shooters can apparently get anything you want, if you know the guys.
They were bringing in five-seven pistols from FN with 5.7mm ammunition a while back. As long as its not prohib you can buy it.

The .30 TC is only a shortened case from a .308, there should be no reason whatsoever why this cannot be sold in canada. That is if it doesn't use a steel/tungsten core...

I would check a different dealer to see if they can order it in.

I searched the CFC website and I can't see anything about the .30tc.

I think its obvious at this point in time to realize that this isn't a legal thing, its more like a company thing. I have a feeling that whoever makes the .30tc cartridge is not exporting to canada yet. Why? becuase they can do whatever they want.
Might be that theres a huge hassel to get the cartridge through the border, i don't know.

I would contact the manufacturer of the rifle and ask them, they should be able to give you an answer. Make up a story and say that you were given the rifle as a gift from a family member and you need ammunition, this way they feel obligated to help you as you have one of their products.

Why in God's name would you want a gun chambered in .30TC?

In 10 years or so when 30TC brass and ammo are non-existent (not just very uncommon like they are now), you'll be able to pick one up used for a song.

Get your smith to run a .308 reamer in there and you'll be in business!
