I'm reading a lot of bad news on these guns. From entire LE departments to individual civilian owners having problems. The fact (so i've read) that Sig in N.H. is dragging there feet doesn't leave me with a warm feeling. I though I finally found a Sig the fits my price range. I'm leaning toward the SP2022. Plan on shooting one at the range this weekend. Do any of our forum members have one?? Can you please tell me the pros and cons? I don't want to buy the '09 version of the P250. Thanks for your help.

I have the P250c, and I love it. It eats anything, has great ergos, and the night sights are superb. My only gripe is the long trigger reset. Feel free to PM me with any questions.

i think it is a neat idea, and it is a sig, so i imagine that they are reliable, and accurate as they need to be. i have little experience with them, there was a student at a training course that had one and as far as i know he had no issues in the two day class.

Shot the 9mm version (don't know the frame size, tho...sorry) this February. Loved the gun. Smoothest DA trigger I've ever used. Recoil was perceived as very soft - double taps were piece o' cake.

It's not in the budget right now, but I would love to have one in .45ACP. A gun with those kind of handling characteristics and the oomph of a .45ACP makes me :D

Not Impressed with Sig 250 yet

I bought my Sig 250 compact .40 cal on Saturday May 2 2009. We opened it at the gun shop, went to the indoor range and fired 100 rd thru it. IT tattoed my face with brass thru most of the rounds. Seemed to shoot 6in low. Grouping was fine, but first groups were low when aiming. Not so when pointing however.

Went to outdoor range the next day at home. no wind. fired 125 rds of different ammo and same thing. I only had 4 casings on the ground that were over 3 ft away. All the rest were at my feet from hitting my top of head, more on face, neck, chest and dropping to the ground.

Monday May 4,2009 went back to gunshop and got different ammo, shot 75 rounds at indoor range. Shot low, tattooed my face and had 3 jams with the bullet half in half out of chamber.

Called Sig on Tues morning, was told by unfriendly CS guy that 250 "ejects at random, too bad, nothing we can do".

Called back & got different CS guy who listened and said they are supposed to eject to the right and back and this many in the face did not really sound right. Although he wasnt convinced completely but said to send it in and emailed me a UPS label.
UPS'd Sig 250 compact .40cal to Sig in NH Wed May 5 this morning with letter of problems and dissapointment.

Came home tonight fired 200 rounds of winchester white box thru my New HK P30 9MM that i bought three weeks ago. NOT ONE SINGLE EJECTED CASING HIT MY BODY ANYWHERE !!!

Sofar all I see from the sig is
1. Nice gun, trigger is nice and smooth and is convertalbe cheaply to other cals. 9mm and .357sig. I was going to do that too.

2. I will win the gunfight in Walmart parking lot in 3 taps but I will be blind when its over due to getting hit in the eyes with hot casings.

I hope they can fix it, cause it can be a great gun I think, but I am afraid it is going to be for sale and if thats happens I will never buy another Sig forever.

Sorry, don't have one, but I did pick one up and look at it-couldn't put in back in the case fast enough! First SIG I've handled that just said "cheap" to me!
'Course, I'm not impressed with the whole modular concept, specially with the prices they charge for parts-I'd rather just buy another gun/caliber.

If you can stand the size (don't know your intended purpose), I'd go with the SP2022-wasn't really in the market, but for $495 with night sights and 3 magazines, one followed me home. Was at the gun store the other day, and it looks like they've cut it from 3 to 2 magazines!

I haven't fired one, so just know that when you read my opinion. But the P250 just doesn't do it for me. I am a die-hard SigSauer person, and I just don't like the look or function of the piece. The modular idea seems pretty cool, but I think the execution was poorly done. If you look and handle it next to other Sigs - it just doesn't fit with the quality and aesthetic appeal that SigSauer is so famous for - just my two cents.

I picked one up at the gun shop and when cycled it wouldn't return to battery without a STIFF nudge. I also could hardly cycle the slide. I own 2 Les Baers and they are tight to cycle the slide But the 250 felt like there was something wrong with it. I even told the owner about it and showed him. He just said Sig hag a good warranty and if the new owner didn't like it he could send it back. Need less to say I won't buy another gun from tis guy. To sum it up , I think Sig has some work to do on the 250 . It's a good consept , just needs some refighning.

:evil:Yea and whats funny is my friend who is a big sig 228 guy, told me "OH dont buy a Glock they bean ya when they eject. That is why I bought a Sig a long time ago"
He's pretty quiet right now.

Had the compact... nice little gun.. but I hate to say it if I am going to carry a DAO gun in 9mm it would be a Glock 19....

Sorry but for less you get just as much if not more.....

I liked it but I sold it...

The Sig Pro is a great gun at a great price IF it fits your hand... it is too wide in the grip, for no real reason, for my hand. Sweet DA trigger and the normal Sig SA trigger.

If it fits your hand get it.

Thats what I like about the HK P30. It fits my hand really really well. Probably the best feeling handgun I have ever held.
A little stiff on the first shot, but that will improve. I like a DA/SA and the decock is in the right place.

I do hope that Sig can improve my P250, but I am afraid it is going to come back still a forehead stitching machine. I will be p***sed if that happens.

I guess thats what buy and sell is all about.

I just am getting back into shooting after a 30 year hiatus from back when i was on a Sheriff Dept and quit and went back into construction for better pay. Hey it was the late 70;s, little kids, mortage etc.

Having fun looking into handguns and my ole Smith Model 66 is still looking good !

Sig should out-source their Customer Service operation to India. At least you expect to be treated like s**t. :cuss: I've heard nothing but horror stories about the people in N.H.

But guess what?? They are making plenty of guns and plenty of money to care about the little guy.:banghead:

Well i thought I would get closure here with the P250.

Sig took it, kept it for 3 days, sent it back to me with a note saying they installed a new ejector and

IT WORKS GREAT !! SHOOTS GREAT !! EJECTS GREAT !!

SO I HAVE TO SAY, WHAT STARTED OUT BAD, JASON H AT SIG MADE IT RIGHT !

I do like this gun now and felt it was only fair to report the good news as well as the bad that i reported earlier.

I have a p250 compact in .45 acp and I love the gun. I am generally a revolver guy but the trigger on this one sold me. I to have had a few problems with the cases landing on top of my head. If it does not straighten out in a few more range sessions guess I'll send it back in.
