thoughts on reciever peep sights on m48 mauser

It has little to no collector value. Windage and elevation adjustments on the battle sights are crude at best. I do not wish to install a scope and I have a peep sight with target knobs at my disposal. What would do? It has only been fired a few times using commercial ammo and the bore is in new condition. It groups better than any surplus I have ever shot. I'm sure this would make it better. I may just do it before you guys respond to this post

I know some guys use mojo peep sights and they like them,they install with no permanent changes to the rifle.Other than that,personally I like keeping my rifles stock as is because I appreciate them as history and as what they are but for a Yugo being that it isn't that rare it really is up to you.


I saw a guy with a bubba Mosin at the range a while ago,first thought was man he messed up the history of it,but when I saw his targets which were no more that 1MOA at 100yds I changed my tune.He cut up the stock,bent the bolt and tapped it for a scope and used handloads.Obviously it worked for him.Can't argue with his targets that I saw.

Have a look on the Williams website http://www.williamsgunsight.com/gunsights/gunsightsdefault.htm for receiver peep sights, I think their WGRS-FN would fit your Mauser with the charger guide removed & tapped to fit it. Either that or their FP-98 with holes tapped in the reciver side & normally some removal of stock wood where they mount.
