I just bought a barrel and magazine extension off ebay at what I think is a good price ($125 for 22 inch slug barrel with 4 chokes, contrasting fiber optic sights, and a +4 magazine extension). I also have an older 1960's 1100 12 GA in good condition sitting around not doing anything, it could use new stocks due to slight water damage on the wood, so I was thinking about adding a new set of black stocks along with the barrel and extension. Any thoughts?

p.s. I already have a 20 GA 870 HD gun set up with a 20 inch barrel +2 extension and a Surefire 618 forestock light

I've been using one since last may as my HD gun. It's a good choice but you have to choose if you like it better than your current 870.

Just make sure to shoot the snot out of it once you have it configured the way you want. You need to have 100% confidence in that gun if you plan on using it for HD. Also, make sure to keep it clean....those gas guns can be finicky when dirty.

I keep a 26" skeet choked 12ga 1100 as a house gun. I have thousands of rounds through one over the last number of years and have complete confidence in mine.

Been using a Skeet B for 35 years as my bedroom gun.Wouldn't hesitate a bit.It was maintained well over the years of skeet shootin and will still bust 25 all day long.As well as a burglar.

One guy that I go trap shooting with has his use an 1100 with a broken extractor which makes it a single shot.
