Finally home for a bit, til August anyhow. Went to the back yard and setup a block to throw some knives at. Wife assisted. It was hot today, so we waited til this evening. It went well. Starting to get the hang of it. Need more knives so we don’t have to walk as much to recover them. Anybody else throw knives? Have a couple axes too. Block came from an old stump. Not as big as I would have liked.

Not yet but I’m stealing that idea

I love throw knives and axes, never good at it but I’ve always thought such still could come in handy in a self defense situation.

My boy and I have been throwing hatchets, shuriken and various knives lately. I've been trying to get him to appreciate some of the finer "caveman arts" .
Little booger's getting pretty good at it too.

it's surprising to see how the dynamics of it change when you go from "hit the mark and make it stick", to "hit the mark and make it stick HARD"

There's a axe throwing place just across the river in pa I'd like to check out sometime, I've thrown axes messing around but never got into it even though I do firewood and logging type stuff. I was wanting a new hatchet this season and maybe pickup a boys axe for my pack, I'll order from council tool and may get one of there flying foxes. Never really thru knives but was pretty good at throwing railroad spikes when I was a kid lol.

I have been interested in shuriken for the longest time, How did you acquire one?

The wife and I have been throwing knives for a few years now. Set up a 3 tier of rounds and after a while we both got good at it. I threw 6 knives scattered around the target and my wife wove her arm around them, took a picture and sent it to my son. There was a panicked call from him to my wife saying STOP!!!! Have you guys gone crazy?

My wife and I hung up a target in our living room (converted 2 car garage) at one of our old houses......great way to spend an hour here and there lol.
Our knives are still out with my other random stabby bits, including a set of cheap shuriken my buddy brought back from....somewhere....I have a scar from one of those bouncing off my target backer and hitting me in the foot a couple months ago.....

I have a Sog throwing axe also that I actually got pretty good with, havent done any throwing in a while tho.

Did that with my 2 kids when they were you. Knives, tomahawks, throwing stars, etc. They loved it.
