Hello all,

I'am a bit of a newbie, so I'am going to ask what is Tikka. I know that it an oppspring of Sako or Sako is the parent company, something like that. And also, why are the Tikkas imported by Berretta. So my question is --
Who is Tikka??

Thanks,

Checking their website is a great start. I've got a couple....a .25-06 that's a great shooter, and a .338 that I haven't shot much yet. Like Sako's, they're made in Finland, supposedly in the same factories. They've got a good rep. I've been very happy with mine.

Tikkakoski was started before Sako, and was an industrial concern of some sort before getting into the business of building new Mosin-Nagants on old Russian receviers after Independence. They also built the Lahti rifles and other munitions. Sako, IIRC, was a state-owned enterprise and also made many Mosin-Nagants and other munitions. Both Sako and Tikka brands appear on most models of Finnish Mosins, with Sakos dominating the M-39's and Tikkas dominating the Finnish M-91's and Finnish 91/30's.

Tikka eventually merged with Sako, and both are now owned by Beretta but still based in Finland and very Finnish in character.

Who is Tikka? The maker of some of the most accurate out-of-the-box rifles currently available. I own four Whitetail Hunters, and they are all sub-MOA rifles.

what are good prices on these? i could have swore my gunshop was selling them for around 400$ and i almost bought one but i got a mini 14 instead:banghead: :banghead:

Whitetail Hunters were available for around $400...one of the best rifle buys ever.
