Wow! You gotta love it when that happens.

It was refreshing. I spent a lot of time dialing in the M700 Classic 8x57; Trigger, striker, Alaska TI stock and bedding. That 8x57 Tikka was box stock and shot like that. The other untuned test loads shot well too.

However the Tikka which has a long throat did not like the 150 grain Hornady load that was accurate in both the M700 & M70 8x57's with much tighter throats.

So you can get a factory Tikka in 6.5x55 and 8x57, but not 7x57. Wow that's aggravating.

This morning at the range with a new load...

.243 Tikka T3, 100 grain Hornady BTSP, 40 grains H4350 in Federal cases.

300 yards. Roughly 0.7 MOA (Yawn). :D

Actually I'm pretty thrilled. Cheapest bulk blemished bullets Midway has and I didn't even measure each charge. Just dropped it from my Lee powder measure. Makes me wonder what the rifle could do with a better stock and optic in the hands of someone who actually knows how to load good ammo.
