Me too :D

This whole thing was started by Beretta M71. I was so impresed how much i like it, that i opened to idea of surplus guns (my vz. 58 was more or less economical pick for SHTF). Its possible that i will circle again to M12 IF there will be some "optic ready" version. Current plan is to focus on future replacment of vz. 58, i would like Arx 160 or MDRX, but kinda refuse give so much money for gun :p

I really like my Fulton Armory BM59 with great Garand rights, I added a Shuster plug to give me ability to shoot hotter non-M2 ball ammo.
wish 308 was not so scarce and expensive...
Nobody at the range can guess what it is.

Btw BM59, M12, mentioned Beretta M71 (as well as 70) comes from Italian navy stockpile - it looks like they started to sell it quite recently. There are also guns like this beauty

Lee-Enfield No. 4 Mk I, r. .303 British, about 840 USD, there are also Mk III for little bit lower price. Its possible that we will also see Beretta 70/90

So, it sounds like you have an influx of surplus firearms hitting the market. I didn't realized that at the beginning of the thread.

One thing about "affordable" milsurps these days is once the wholesalers and dealers run out, those affordable prices may never happen again. It's happened time and again here in the USA.

I didnt realized it at start, just got it together when i came across that Lee

Yeah, it would be chance to make some money, but honestly i dont like it. Im currently selling my Hammerli and its just process what i dont wnat to repeat

Ok, to mess things up - local dealer have Beretta BM59 for even lower price - 720 USD. And thats the gun what i planned to buy for my birthday :D

The BM59 is a fine rifle, is it an actual Pietro Beretta (import) or a Springfield/Other build?

I bought a Beretta CX4 to go with my pair of Beretta 92FS's. It's a fun, accurate and light carbine. However, I was disappointed in the quality of some of the internal parts. So I upgraded the rifle as follows with the SierraPapa products as the alternative for me was to sell it.
Now I love it and I'd bet my life on its reliability.
But I wouldn't again buy a stock CX4 as unmodified it borders on junk, IMHO.

Oprods compared: toothpick, Beretta OEM :barf:, SierraPapa:

EDIT: Here's the buffer - OEM on the right. The replacement is MUCH sturdier.
