2/22/22 was an enjoyable evening for me
I went wild hog hunting near Seguin, TX.
This was no high-fence hunt. We were in cattle pastures and pecan orchards. Spot and stalk hunting. The night vision and thermal scopes made all the difference in my success. Thanks to Randy at NIGHTHOGS in Seguin all I really needed for my hunt was dark clothes and good boots.
NIGHTHOGS provides the rifles and night vision equipment. I should have taken pictures of the interesting equipment. Army surplus night vision goggles. Thermal handheld monocular, and thermal scopes.
I didn't even use my rifle. Randy provided a customized, fully suppressed Ruger 77/44 rifle with night vision scope. Randy handloads the .44magnum to subsonic speed. The subsonic ammunition combines with the fully suppressed barrel to produce shots that sound like a .22 short!. No spooked cattle. No angry neighbors. The pigs don't even react much.
With the the equipment we were using, we literally stalked to within 50yds for my shots.

After two successful stalks, we decided to head back towards town and vlean the pigs. Randy wanted to check an orchard that was on our way, and guess what...there were about a dozen pigs there! Randy let me use his new suppressed .223 Ruger Ranch. I was the first client to use it on a pig. The new thermal scope lit the pigs up like an eerie sci-fi movie. The scope was so clear that I could see patches of mud stuck on the pigs skin. We picked the biggest boar in the orchard. The .223 hit an inch below th
e ear, just like we had talked about before the hunt.

Perhaps I should have posted this in the hunting section, but I have enjoyed this thread so much that I wanted to post here.
In the spirit of the thread, I carried my new 13+1 Springfield Armory Hellcat 9mm in a Desantis kydex iwb
