Yesterday we went for a hike up Frog Ridge.
A huge elevation of approximately 46’.
We walked a few miles(few hundred yards) in from the HayMarsh road.
We found our way by the sun(for thirty minutes).
We came across a flock of blood thirsty Mosquitoes(Michigan state bird).
We found Bear poop(yup).
We talked about how water goes up trees(after the fun of getting peed on by a tree frog. I love that joke. Mini Amazon less so...
)
We marveled at a moss “forest” in a swamp, in a woods, in a HayMarsh, in a forest.(That is technically surrounded by the worlds largest lakes. “Whoa.” Says Little Bear, his eight year old mind blown...)
Since it was a Play-Day, I took these out with us.
I love me some 1911. This one is for carrying. In the woods, in the yard, in the jungle.
We have seen bears all spring and lost some really beautiful bird feeders. I am still adequately armed with this 45Auto. I never see one in the woods, I am too loud. With kids, we may as well be a moving rock concert!
We didn’t find any targets of opportunity, as we were too enthralled with the world at large.
But later on, we found a whole lot of steel at the cabin...
Sniper team Alpha.
I didn’t carry the Buckmark. No holster.
