Today was "Final Decision Day". Just 22lr for me here on.

I don't have the place to reload....I live in an apartment and have no sturdy table.

Tables really aren't ideal for reloading
from anyway unless you're using a
whack-a-mole original Lee Loader

You should have a sturdy bench with a
thick top surface to eliminate any flex.
You don't want your press moving around

Yeah....which isn't gonna happen in this apartment. However, I am wanting to get an actual house, so maybe I can take up reloading at that time..

I love the .22 and think that it's one of the best options for ya know, shtf because it's lightweight and very quiet in a suppressed 10/22 that just so happens to be quite accurate. I wouldn't go only .22, but I know mine aren't going anywhere.

As a reloaded, I personally would not restrict myself to rim fire cartridges. But to each his own! .22s can definitely be fun to shoot, but my Marlin 60 is such a tack driver, it's almost boring. Yawn, blew the 10 ring out of another target.

SDGlock23,.....also, you can carry a crap ton of it as well, if you had to "bug out".

Harbor Freight or Northern Tool carry stable small grinder tables that can fit inside a closet when not in use but will easily handle working a reloading press

Before I'd be attaching anything to tables
and cabinets, I'd use a Lee hand press

The whole thing is to not have any flex
when sizing cases. You lose consistency
without a smooth downward lever stroke.
If it's flexing and jerky, any consistency
is gone, and consistency is what we
should be striving for when reloading

The mighty 22 rimfire was my introduction to shooting, and it will probably be my last shot, but variety is the spice of life and I do try to protect what hearing I have left. A silencer would make things considerably better for you, when coupled with sub sonic ammo. I would also recommend 45 colt with wax bullets and shotshell primers, as used by quickdraw competitors. All you need is a lever tool to prime and decap. Bullets are just a wax sheet into which the primed cases are pushed.

So, an update on this thread. I took my CZ P-09 out one more time today. Made sure I had my foam ear plugs in, and my best ear muffs over those. I had the Kaw Valley Precision Mach 3 threaded on. I was able to go through 30 rounds with only mild "discomfort". Obviously, still not as "quiet" a my Mark II, but with this setup, it may work.

If you'll pardon the obvious pun, this is great to hear!

Awesome,....I misspelled "quiet". Fixed it....but jeez..

Anyway,...nice pun, bannockburn. :-D

I'll go one further than the .22 LR, I do 90% of my shooting with air guns - including my M1A1 Thompson.

Last year I bought 5000 pellets
I am all set for a while
