Lease mate and myself checked the hog traps this morning:

One trap held this 225-250 pound boar:

This trap held a 70 pound pig and a very pregnant 200 pound sow that had died. It's a sad fact that pregnant sows infrequently die in traps.

Third trap had a huge very pregnant sow that weighed over 275 pounds. Sow was pregnant with 10 pigs. The juvenile weighed about 70 pounds.

Good work and keep at it.

I’ve got them going into my big trap all week just haven’t had the phone on me at the same time to trap them.

The deer seem to constantly be in them to the point I get tired of the alerts, then I miss the hogs again...

So you took out like 20+ at once! Nice cull! Sad about the death in the trap though, not as humane, but what can you do. Is it stress related when they die like that? Heart attack maybe?

I find it so odd that eastern KS has almost no hog population. We have so much food available. Ive only seen one trace of em.

Not that im complaining! Though a hog blast session sounds like, well, a blast.
