The Kimber TLE just feels right. After years and years of Glocks with some required 1911 training, I picked up a Kimber TLE II at a local LGS. Honestly it felt more like a beloved Hi-Power...slim, precise, and an extension of your hand. Shooting it was quite humiliating, as I've spent years making speeches about the perfection of my G23 and its magical ability make to long distance hits and great groups. Two mags through the TLE, and I had an private instructor from a few lanes down walk over to see what I was shooting. Haven't been able to break it either. I am definitely a Kimber fan.
I kind of went 1911 crazy right after that, and after listening to Gloom and Doom speeches about MIM and Schwartz safeties, I spent quite a bit on an "A Ticket" 1911...it handled just like the 1911s I had always despised, had a much poorer trigger than the Kimber, and was a boat anchor as far as weight went...but it did cost more and was on the "accepted list" of the Doom and Gloomers. It sits unfired in a box while I decide what to do with it. I even prefer Kimber's night sites over the "Name Brand" sites on the boat anchor. Summing it up, my Glocks carry more rounds and are lighter, I can blow the center out of a target with either, BUT 8 rounds of .45 make ruin a target more quickly than 13-15 rounds of smaller diameter. AND in the Weapons Presence department, a full size 1911 stops arguements before they start. LONG LIVE KIMBER!!!!!!!!!!
