Tuesday was a beautiful day here in Portland, Oregon so we decided to go shootin. Two girls i'm good friends with have always been against me owning guns, carrying a pocket knife, blah blah blah. After much talk, I finally convinced them to go shootin with me and another buddy to see what it's all about. I was a little worried taking three people that have never shot a gun in their lives up to the woods with me but i'm happy to say they followed my instructions and did excellent. The two girls are now buggin me to take em up again. Heidi (in the red) fell in love with my Sig P226 .40 while Alison prefers the AK :D

I'm really really proud of these girls, both swore they wouldn't shoot anything other than the Marlin .22.

Figured I'd share the pics...i'm the white guy

Second post, first pic.
What stance is that? The Knock-Me-Over-With-A-Feather stance? :neener:

You guys are fortunate to have places like that where you can shoot. For me in IL, we have to go to a range.

I just don't shoot as well in a booth as I would out in the open.

hahaha yeah I think I was loadin a magazine or something. First time I shot a twelve gauge i was twelve and my grandpa (bein the old bastard he was) told me to put my feet together side by side. I'll never forget that, lol.

NUTHIN FINER THAN A GOOD LOOKING WOMAN

and a nice piece of hardware in her arms.

DROOOOOOOOOOOL....

Good work on introducing some people to firearms. If nothing else, that is two more people who won't get their information solely from a heavily biased media.

That third shot, she does'nt have her thumb wrapped around the tang, does she?:what:

Cool, but I'd recommend getting eye protection on both cuties to avoid injuries and get them started out right.

New Shooters! Good Job!

Hello,
I have a question that others may well have also, you're firing over a fence no? Who's the owner that installed the fence and is the property posted?

I forgot the eye protection

I'm a bit paranoid about that since I have to shoot in indoor ranges and get beaned in the face and head by ricocheting casings all the time :)

Every girl (~10) I have ever taken shooting for the first time stand like that. One of my bestfriends I took was shaking so bad that she almost dropped my HK USP before she had even pulled the trigger! By the end of the day, she had mooched one TX CHL man target I always have with me, shot it up, and then posted it on her dorm door with a warning, "Don't mess with me, I shoot low" You can imagine where most of the shots went!

Kudos on taking them shooting!

I live in Oregon and the only place i shoot at is In the MT hood forest "Legal to shoot there" But deer hunters are out im i really dont wanna piss them off.I really need to join a club or something. At least i think its bow season.

Very cool......I always enjoy taking girls out shooting for the first time. They virtually always pick it up quicker then the guys I take out.........familiar screen name BTW. I'm "WAZX3DRVR" on Importmix. :) Good to see you on here......

Kudos to you Joey for taking the time to introduce new people to the joys of responsibly blowing the s**t out of stuff. ;)

It seems that that's the universal women and small children's stance.
Feet together, arms way out in front, cheek as far back on stock as possible with spine arched backwards.

But how come no one was the "Charlie's Angels" Stance?
That's when you hold the gun in one hand while the other hand executes a death grip on the other arm about three inches above the wrist.
Works best with the .454 Casull.

Ultima-Ratio,
That's not a fence, that's the standard "Logging Road" gate that we have everywhere up here.

I always keep several pairs of 99¢ sunglasses, usually in yellow or pink in my outdoor shooting kit. I consider them to be disposable. They're not great but they're better than nothing if you meet someone out shooting and they don't have any protection of their own.
A local pawn shop has disposable foam earplugs for 99¢ and I keep several pairs of those in my main shooting box.

Looks like a fun time. Next time though you may want to move to the other side of the gate. If one of them had done an unintentional double tap into the top rail of the gate it could have gotten ugly in a hurry :what: .

I think it is very appropriate that you were shooting at the 2A gate

I wanna take some cuties shooting, too!
