Good on ya' ! Its always fun to teach a new shooter. Not every one that tries is good at it, but it sounded like you were right "on target" with her. A few more trips and she'll be going by herself!...then tell you all about it the next day! This old grandaddy thing is OK with the grand kids...but the girls at work? Keep it up.Teach another one!
Mark.

Take it from me, nice gesture Okiecruffler - wink wink, but your wife will NEVER EVER understand.

You might know something about firearms, but you don't seem to know jack about women.

Actually, the wife is taking her on her next trip out to "get rid of the bad habits I had to have taught her." Hope it's not like the old Bugs Bunny joke. 2 go out, only one comes back.:D

Best thing is, she's telling everyone at work how much fun it was and how they should go with me. Looks like I'd better start loading some ammo. Can you imagine a whole unit of gun toting nurses?:D Wonder what trhe AMA would think about that?:neener:

great job okie...keep it up.....kinda sad that you arent percieved as a threat though...but keep it up on bringing people into the gun culture...we need everyone to do that!!!!!!!

Oh yeah are you an RN also?

I guess that depends on whether you shot her favorite gun.:neener: (Well, someone had to say it).

Congrats on converting another one to the the good side of the Force, and on having a bit of fun while doing so.

Well, another gun owner is born

Unfortunately, I wasn't the one who took her to buy her first gun, the wife had that honor. There was a very slightly used Buckmark that the wife had been kinda looking at at a local pawn shop but had decided against. So after work she picked up the new shooter and they went to get the gun. The shop also had a nice Taurus 85, so she put it in layaway. Then the wife took her and one of her friends, who has also never shot, to the range. They were supossed to come pick me up after I had a long nap so we could go out to eat, but they conveniently forgot, so I get to eat cold cheese sandwiches. Maybe they'll let me go shoot with them some time.

Women are inherently better shots than men. You did nothing wrong. You just took a co-worker shooting.
However, if you're going to tell a story, please use the Queen's English and grammar. Think paragraphs. Make it easier to read.

Thanks ever so much for your advice.

I am ever so thankful, golly I really am. I shall try so very hard to conform to the queen's english.:neener:

I have but one queen, and she thinks my english is just fine. So did the nice people who gave me my first college degree, and my second, and my third. Of course those were just Okie schools, probably not even recognized in the well-mannered parts of the world.

Good Job Okie , as a fireman,( yeah, I'm old school),paramedic/flightmedic, it's great to date a nurse that has cool interests outside of work and doesn't want to talk "shop" all the time. Keep up the good work.

I think we all fall into that trap

Work is such a huge part of our lives that it's almost painful not to talkabout it when we get together. It's an incrediable career, and I couldn't imagine doing anything else, but at the same time it wears on you. Now I have at least one co-worker who I can talk with about something other than work, even when we are at work.
