I typically shoot around 400-600 rounds every time I go out (which used to be once a week) and I always come home with plenty of extras. It can get fairly miserable.
The smaller guns usually only have a cylinder/magazine or two run through them. Just to maintain some kind of proficiency. My full sized autos and revolvers usually get shot quite a bit more. I take my sweet time at the range. Almost every shot is taken carefully while concentrating on the sight picture and my trigger pull. If I go through 400 rounds in a range session it would be a very long one.....the fella's at my local indoor range always joke about bringing me lunch back there just to make sure I don't starve during my much enjoyed time on my lane. Since my outdoor range has closed and I don't have anywhere to shoot my rifles at present my handgun skills have gotten exponentially better.
I like taking all of them to the range a few times a year myself. I just bought a bunch of cheapo padded zipper pistol cases and put them all in a big roll around suit case. Its works great , nothing gets jacked up and its easy to roll them around.
And yes I have been asked if I planned on staying..
