Picked up my CZ SP01 after it sat at my local gun store for a grueling 37 days (i live in California and there is a 1 new handgun everyday 30 days law) Took her home and cleaned her. Applied frog lube and let it cure for an hour and then I went straight to the range.

Put 200 rounds of 115 grain speer lawman fmj down range in an hour's time. Zero malfunctions under any circumstances. There's a pic of the first 50 shots at 10 yards. Not my best but I was pleased at how accurate it was when I did my part.

The single action is really really sweet. It's lighter and more crisp than the rental 75b at the range, by A LOT. I am really impressed by it. The double action is long and heavy. I shot maybe 2 mags as double action, and the rest single action.

It is ACCURATE. I was too excited and in the moment to take more pictures. I should have.

The control placement is excellent. So far it's the only gun I can hit the mag release without altering my grip. The slide stop is placed so that I can easily actuate it, but it's nowhere near my thumbs when I'm gripping the pistol as to cause an accidental bump. The safety doesn't get in the way of my grip either. The control placement is excellent for a thumbs forward grip.

The higher upswept beaver tail is much more comfortable than the one on the 75b, which bit into the web between my thumb and pointer finger. Didn't have that problem with the SP01.

The recoil was so minimal. The least recoil in any 9mm ive shot so far. Te sights just land right back on target, it's feaky. The night sights are nice.

I could not be more happy with my purchase. And now a gun whore confession: I bought a satin nickel CZ 75b AND a 75b stainless on grabagun.com .. It was by accident. I am going to sell the satin nickel most likely.

Congrats!

I love my Nickel, but wonder if I should have gotten the SP01 due to the beavertail--it does make huge difference if you have big hands.

Hmmm. I am going to have to remember to use your excuse "I must have ordered all three of those pistols by accident."

Nice shootin! Not to shabby considering you just picked the gun up and they were the first rounds fired.

I haven't tried the "I made a mistake and ordered 3 guns by accident" excuse yet but I can tell it is in my future.

That's pretty decent accuracy right out of the box. Not too sure how you bought one or two other CZs by "accident" but keep up the good work!

haha. Let's just say when I bought the satin nickel online, I thought I was buying the stainless. I love my SP01 ! Going back to the range today.

Gotta love stupid CA laws. :barf:

Good gun! I have one and though I have taken a bit to get comfortable with it, I am glad I have it and would never sell it. :)

Nice shooting. A fellow on the CZ Forum, Stuart, does a great job with SP-01 trigger jobs, if interested, at a fair price. My SP-01 shot great out of the box, but now is a phenomenal gun with the trigger job. Enjoy your SP-01.

I will probably keep the SP01 stock, especially since this one seems to have a better than average CZ trigger out the box.

The other 75Bs on the other hand will probably get some goodies :)

nice shooting. glad to see im not the only one who saves my old toothbrushes ;)

recycle reduce reuse right?

I could go the extra mile and say I save my floss picks to clean my extraction claws, but I use new ones.

Congrats! You'll love it more each and every time you shoot it. They're great guns. Love my Phantom.

Hadoken, he's in California - 10 round magazines only, those are factory 10 rounders.

Daybreak, welcome to the addiction! The SP-01 is very accurate and surprisingly easy to carry with the right rig, too. You're going to have many thousands of rounds of fun with your new acquisition!.

unfortunately I am in this very gun unfriendly state of CA. After living and working in Louisiana for 4 months this year and having had a taste of shooting my AR without a bullet button, I've decided that I have to move out of CA ASAP.

So far you do not need an exit visa to leave the land of the fruits and the nuts. Nice place to visit but why live there?

I work in film and television and it will be hard to get away from Los Angeles, but it also gives me the opportunity to work out of state if I get on TV shows that film outside of CA. But once the season ends I end up right back in LA.

daybreak, I bet you see my cousins cruising around in their Lipstick Bail Bonds pink vehicles.

Keep you eyes open for opportunity, and you will find it.

thanks, man. I am confident ill find a way out of here. Better now while I am not married and don't own a house yet.

There's a lot of us that don't own houses anymore! :)
There used to be film industry in AZ, but now I hear the porn industry wants to set up capital in Phoenix...I suggested Washington D.C., due to the similarities.

range trip number 2 today. Shot 250 failure free rounds for a total of 460 through the gun so far. The gun is running great.

I brought 150 rounds of 115 grain Speer Lawman and 100 rounds of 115 grain Federal from Walmart, all FMJ. I noticed the Speer Lawman was MUCH hotter than the Federal. I knew it felt hot before, but after alternating mags of fed and lawman, I could really feel the difference. It felt like a totally different caliber. I noticed a difference in my accuracy as well. Here's a target pic at 10 yards, 10 rounds of lawman on the left, and 10 rounds of federal on the right. Looks like the hotter loads are causing me to flinch a little.
